This luxury convertible was built to compete with the Mercedes-Benz SL and Jaguar XJS, and it does so very well, offering a smooth comfortable ride, luxury amenities and V8 performance. The Allante was a joint venture between GM and legendary Italian design house Pininfarina. Between 1986 and 1993, about 21,000 example were built. The body was designed and built by Pininfarina in Italy and shipped to Detroit via specially equipped Boeing 747s, where it was mated to the chassis and assembly was completed. To say that this was a unique arrangement is an understatement. The Allante is not just unparalleled, it just true collectible that will only increase in value. This one is not museum-quality, but its a nice daily driver that could be a candidate for a full restoration. Its in good condition, and runs and drives very well. The exterior is in very good shape, and the paint shines all around No dents or dings. The Carfax report shows no accident history. You can see the Carfax at the end of the photo gallery. The cloth convertible top is also in very good condition. Exterior features include fog lamps, headlamp washers and alloy wheels. The interior is also in good shape. The leather seats are nice with no holes, rips or tears. The dash, carpets and door panels are all nice as well. Both front seats have power controls and the driver's seat has memory. This Cadillac comes with a nice selection luxury and convenience features: Power windows, locks and mirrors; climate control, tilt wheel, cruise control, auto headlamps, driver info center and more. This one also has the digital instrument display. The owner's manual is with the car, and so are a shop manual and both sets of keys. The 4.5 liter was new for 1989, an upgrade over the previous 4.1 liter motor. Its runs well, rated at 200hp and 270 lb-ft of torque.
