Vehicle Detail
Re-listed due to non-paying EBAYER!!! Meet Ruby she is my 1974 VW Super Beetle. Last year of the older (better in my opinion) upright engine. Easy to keep up this engine, check the oil as there is only about 2.5 quarts in it, use a very good oil, and every 5K or so have the valves adjusted and the car tuned. I change the oil about every 3K. She was taken down to bare metal and I took photos as I do with all my VW projects about 9 and a van I'm doing now is my last. The photos I took of the car stripped I deleted somehow. You can tell by the paint job that the car was prepared well for paint and clear coat.. She was painted about 1 year ago I drive them as I enjoy them and this girl starts up first turn and runs great. Motor was rebuilt by previous owner about 3.5 years ago and then she was not used much as top got hail damage. I drove her from up near the mountains and she ran ok but needed the help from my great friend and air-cooled VW expert. He tuned her up and verified the engine was rebuilt and later installed a new alternator. He also installed a new front windshield and rubber. The side windows have some marks were the guy who sand blasted her hit. Tried a few things but cannot get the marks off. Roll the windows down and you cannot see them. New interior seat covers, door panels and visors by TMI, brand new Robbins top (head liner, padding, top and cables where needed) Goes up and down as it should and dead simple. New running boards which I scraped some of the vinyl off of the driver's side.. Passenger seat needs small plastic rails to steady but the seat is usable. Scratch on the door about 9 inches (passenger front) Original bumpers are presentable but have pitting. You can have them redone but fairly expensive. Original hubcaps and beauty rings still nice.I have some paperwork for what I've done but previous owner only found oil changes and title which is clear in my name. The paint job is really nice and I have a small bottle of touch up. It is a base clear coat I bought and I matched the interior red the best I could with the color on the outside. The paint cost around $600. You cannot build this car for the price. The top alone was over $1600 parts and labor. She was painted at Grizzly Customs in Colorado Springs about a year ago - nice job. They have painted about 7 VWs for me and do First Class work. Drips a tiny bit of oil 7 of 9 of mine did this. Nice car! The car is advertised locally. Will help with talking and meeting your shipper and ignore low ball offers. Life is good :) She is a Wolfsburg Edition and I never put the emblem back. Believe its in my garage. Will update when I have a look today... You will not be disappointed with Ruby as she is very pretty and well mannered. Have questions? Just ask Larry
