first generation x1/9 THE GOOD: excellent running 1.3 engine complete rebuild ($5000.00)less than 10,000 miles, many new front end parts, recent brakes and new tires 2000 miles ago, am/fm cd player, excellent interior no cracks slight wear on drivers seat, everything is there, excellent spare tire behind passenger seat, headlights flip up/down, many spare parts, generator, thermostat, starter, chrome rim rings, owners, shop manuals...I drive this car everywhere its, my so called beater..at one time it was mint but I decided to enjoy it, the most fun car youll ever drive.. revs up to 7500 rpm no problem, fiats love to be driven hard THE BAD the body needs work even though it was garaged.. 8 new jersey winters did a job, drivers floor was repaired with weld sheet metal covered with fiberglass, the rockers are rusted and patched up, rear wheel arches rusting. rust on front (see pics) the bumpers excellent the glass great the lights great even though the body needs work it can still be driven anywhere, give you an idea I got a price of 5-6k to completely redo body...I would but I have too many cars.. bottom line. great fun runner, you can enjoy or fix.. right front blinker is out I had to put a toggle switch for headlight, im sure easy fix just don't have time...sometime starts a little slow if its below freezing out, I have a starter FUN CAR! original early first year usa model I think the cleanest and best year.. I have or had, fiat 124 sedan, 124 coupe ,850 coupe,850s spider, original 500, 128 3p, 128 sedan, 5 vws, 57 chev, 61 chev, Ferrari 360, Peugeot 403 and more, the x1/9 is the most fun to drive, for a 1974 it handles incredibly well, great in the snow too!
