This little car has done good by me, and I'm sorry to see it go. I bought it used in 2010 or so here in Pittsburgh. I drove it mostly for trips of under 5 miles a few times a week. In the 3.5 years between June 2011 (when the title was released by the bank) and today, I've put just under 15,000 miles on it. I have a clean title and vehicle history report. No major accidents, but I did have a couple of minor fender benders, including one in a parking lot. There was a really good one last winter when a car was sliding on some ice and clipped the front of the car as it sat ready to pull out onto the main street. Shook me up and dented the front fender, but it wasn't enough to engage the airbags. Our mechanic checked it over and said that it was fine, but the dent looked ugly. I had the bumper replaced. Since the other driver didn't have insurance, I ended up paying out of pocket, so I didn't bother to have it painted to match. The replacement is black, so you can tell it is not original, but it doesn't look too bad. This Neon has been very reliable. In 2012 it started overheating, and I put a couple hundred bucks into the cooling system. A week or so later, it happened again. It turned out that a hose had come loose, and the guy didn't even charge for putting it right. Brakes were serviced this past spring and work fine. I put 4 new all weather tires on in 2012 and the tread is still good on them. A couple of months ago, I had transmission problems. The motor was running and in drive, but the car wasn't moving. It was fixed temporarily by a new transmission filter, but they said it would need serious transmission work soon. I haven't driven it much since then. I'm not working and I can't justify putting money into a car that I'm not using, but it would still make a good vehicle for someone else provided they tend to the transmission issue promptly. I'm asking much less that I otherwise would because I know it will need this repair. No one has smoked in it at least since I've owned it. It could use a good detailing, though. Comes with 1 key including an alarm / remote unlock pad. It has a current inspection sticker for PA, good through March 2015. I'm disclosing everything I know about the mechanical condition of the car. If you have questions, ask them before you bid. The car is being offered AS-IS with no warranty and no return will be accepted once the sale is final. It was drivable last time I drove it, but I can't guess how long the transmission will hold out. The winning bidder should submit a non-refundable deposit of $500 via PayPal within 48 hours of the end of the auction, along with buyer's name and address for the title. The balance will be paid via cash, check, or postal money order within 10 days of the end of the auction. Anything but cash must clear the bank before you can take delivery of the car. You must take the car within 30 days of the end of the auction. If you fail to follow through with the transaction, you forfeit the deposit though I will refund any additional money you may have provided. (That is what "non-refundable deposit" means, but I like to be very clear.) I'm just trying to do a good deal that is fair for both sides. If you are looking for the same, then we can do business. Otherwise, let's not waste each other's time. I'd prefer not to ship the car, but if you need that then you will need to be responsible for making all the shipping arrangements yourself.
