Vehicle Detail

Really nice, restored 1955 Studebaker Commander Coupe. I purchased this vehicle from a classic car dealer in Florida in 2009. The previous owner had restored the car. I have the pictures and receipts for most of the restoration work. It was a frame up restoration. (Car was not removed from the frame) I have since performed upgrades and repairs as needed. Replaced the bias-belt tires with radial tires. I have installed an auxiliary electric fuel pump to assist in starting if it sits for lengthy periods. I have receipts for the things that I've done. I belong to car clubs that are predominantly touring/driving car clubs, so the car is a dependable driver. I've taken it as far as Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Springfield, Missouri as well as numerous week-end trips from the Indianapolis, Indiana area. You will not be disappointed with this Studebaker and are welcome and encouraged to come and inspect it or to send your agent to inspect or appraise it. It is located in Central Indiana. If you have had to replace parts or restored an old car lately, you will find that it would cost two or three what I am asking for a car in this condition! So, bid to own it. It is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells here before it reaches the reserve. The title is clear and in my name (not open or idle) so there will be no issue for the new owner to get it transferred into their name. Must be paid in full before it leaves my possession. Note: If you would like an appointment to inspect the Studebaker or have other questions, send me your phone number via "Ask Seller a Question", best time for me to call you, plus your time zone, and name to ask for when I call. I am in the Eastern Time Zone. On Dec-04-14 at 09:15:43 PST, seller added the following information: Note: The Reserve Price has been lowered! On Dec-31-14 at 18:04:42 PST, seller added the following information: I have just pulled out all of the receipts that I was given by the dealer that I bought this Studebaker from and added up the totals for all of the body/paint, re-upholstery, and other mechanical work that the previous owner spent on the restoration of this car. They show more than $20,000 which is what you get into if you don't do some of the work yourself. This does not include what I spent for the parts that I've put on the car for which I have most of the receipts. I don't keep an account of my labor. None of this takes into account whatever amount the previous owner paid for the car. If the previous owner had gotten for free, my reserve is still way lower than what has been spent to get the vehicle into the nice condition that it is in. Plus the fact that the reserve is also way lower than what I have in the car. So, if you would like a car that is ready to go, keep bidding a little more; you will not be disappointed! However, this is not a FIRE SALE!
