Here is an opportunity to own a 1965 Karmann Ghia celebrating it's 50th anniversary! This classic Volkswagen has been a California native its whole life and can be used as a daily driver, a weekend warrior or could be easily restored to show car quality.This car is ready to drive cross country today. The body is in beautiful condition with a new paint job- no rust and no dings. There was an excellent weld repair done to the seat pan underneath on the driver's side, other than that the frame and undercarriage is in great condition. The newly rebuilt 1600 engine with a Weber progressive carb starts up every time and doesn't miss a beat. The engine doesn't burn oil or smoke since the rebuild approximately 3000 miles ago and the engine compartment is clean and neat. The transmission shifts smoothly and never pops out of gear. The heater boxes work well. A new gas tank has been installed. The brake system has been restored with new master cylinder, slave cylinders, brake lines, drums and shoes. This Ghia has been converted to 12V and the electrical wiring and fuse block have been restored. All the electrics operate including the clock, gas gauge, horn and wipers. The interior is beautiful condition with new carpet, seat upholstery and headliner. All seals and rubber have been replaced and the doors close solid and tight. All glass is original and in great condition with the exception of one small crack in the corner of the front windshield. The radio is not original, however a Retro radio was installed which both looks and sounds great.This vehicle has been garaged and covered. Every time you drive her, people will stop to admire the Ghia and reminisce about their younger days in the 60's. I really hate to sell her but I have my eye on a new project- restoring a VW bus.
