Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1965 "C" VIN code 289 V8 Ford Mustang Coupe with a 4 Speed Manual Transmission. This is an older resto-mod with a few years under its belt that needs some tlc and basic restoration. The build tag indicates this Mustang was built in Detroit and shipped to Fargo, ND. It was originally equipped with a 3 speed but was upgraded to the 4 speed likely when it received the high performance engine rebuild. Less than 1% of C code 289 v8 mustangs in 1965 came with a manual transmission so this is a rare find. I am not sure if the engine is original but it has been rebuilt and runs very strong. Newer Holley carb with aluminum intake and Petronix Ignitor electronic ignition. The car runs, drives, shifts, and stops thanks to a dual master cylinder and disc brake conversion completed on the front. Speedo and Gas Gauge is working. Odometer is working and reading 32,384 but is exempt per title. Aftermarket gauges indicate strong oil pressure and normal water temps. Interior seats are in great shape and were recently recovered. As you can see in the photos the body is extremely straight for a 50 year old car and the doors shut nicely. The underside and floorboards are very solid. It does need some attention to the headlight switch, wiper switch/relay and dash lights. The dash and doors need a scuff , prime and paint. Weatherstripping needs replacement and one piece of windshield chrome is missing. The passenger side rear quarter window is not rolling down and needs attention. The trunk has a few small holes that need repair and the battery tray needs replacement. The bottom front corners of each door and directly around rear wheels on each quarter panel are in need of basic rust repair. The paint is aging and could be repaired but a re-spray may be in order depending on your use for the car. It has some flaws on the roof and various spots around the car. Pinch welds are surprisingly good for the age with the trunk lid seam appearing to be the only one in need of repair. Car is for sale locally so auction can end at anytime. Buyer to arrange and pay for any transport or delivery. $500.00 Deposit due immediately with balance due within 7 days. I have priced the car according to its condition and what it needs. The reserve is low especially for a 4 speed V8! Happy Bidding and Merry Christmas.
