Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford F-250 Pickup 352 V-8 4 speed Manual with Granny Low Custom Cab Camper mirrors Camper rear bumper Air Conditioning Body/Frame: This truck has a very straight body overall. It still has mostly the original paint on it with some areas that have been repainted and touched up. The paint is very shiny and looks great with the added pin striping and red accents of the emblems and FORD on the tailgate. There are some dings and a couple minor dents. There also are some patched areas on the bed that hooks were bolted onto the outside, removed, patched over and touched up. On the left front side of the bed is a hole where a previous owner obviously had located an auxiliary gas tank in that front corner of the bed. The inside of the bed has not been repainted or touched up and a good part of the paint is worn on the bottom. A previous owner must have hauled a camper as there is a plug on the back corner of the cab to plug electrical for a camper into. The Tailgate opens and closes well, the hood opens and closes well, the doors open and close good, all glass is good, chrome and bright trim and grille are all shiny and straight, Bumpers have been repainted. The Rear bumper extends out for accommodating a camper. Camper mirrors are good, weather stripping is decent, yet showing age. Wheels are very nice Dodge chrome wheels with decent radial tires. There is really no evidence of rust other than some surface rust in the bed where the paint is worn off. We live in a dry climate so rust is not much of an issue in this area. Overall body in nice shape Interior: The seat is in great condition, however I think it has been recovered at some point in the last 49 years. The doors are very clean, however the upper door panels are missing. The driver’s side arm rest has cracked vinyl but the passenger side is okay. The chrome door handles and window cranks are nice. The dashboard is in good shape with all of the gauges working. There is a tachometer added under the dash. The wipers work, lights work, choke works, lighter works, dash lights work, dome light works and the heating/defroster works. The dash pad has a couple cracks due to age and one location of discoloring where something obviously was set that shouldn’t have been! The headliner looks original and is in good condition. The steering wheel shows some paint wear and the horn ring is good, however the horn does not work. The factory AM radio is in the dash but is not hooked up. The Mark IV Air Conditioning is complete as a system, but there is not belt on the compressor and I’ve never tried to get it to work. Shifter and boot is good, original floor mat is surprisingly pretty nice shape and intact. Door sills are good. Again, no real signs of any rust or issues in the cab. Drivetrain: The whole drivetrain on this truck had over $6500 of parts and labor put into it only 30k miles ago when it had 110k on it. That was 1992 that the work was done by a previous owner, however I have receipts for what was done. The engine, clutch, transmission, u-joints, rear end, axles, bearings, steering, brakes, cooling are all in great shape. The truck starts right up with the new battery, runs, drives, steers, stops and sounds great. It does not use oil or have any issues that I have found. The engine compartment is clean however there are some minor oil leaks – valve covers are leaking a little and the right exhaust manifold gasket a small exhaust leak, so it could use some minor TLC. Overall, the drivetrain is in good condition and this is a very reliable and drivable truck. Overall: This is a very clean, striking vintage Ford Pickup that looks great, however not a restored or show pickup. You can drive it to the dump during the day, and take it out on a date in the evening! Do not expect a perfect body or a perfect truck as this has been used as it was meant to be, however it has been well taken care of. It is 49 years old, may need some TLC, but overall a very solid good looking truck! This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION! Email me for more information or feel free to call me at 509-520-5588.
