Vehicle Detail
1967 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Dr Hardtop click picture to enlarge This car belongs to a local resident that has decided to sell it. It has been sitting in the lot where I took the photos since 1986. The original owner has passed on and the relative does not have a use for it. They took it in to the local service station back in 1986 and didn't want to put the money into fixing the transmission is what I understand. The motor or identification number on the registration is 2665 77X 125 527. As far as the motor goes they did not have it checked out recently to see if it would still turn over. So you are probably looking at a restore. The car has some good things going for it for restoration in that the chrome and body seem to be in pretty good shape. We do not have much humidity here or salt so the car only has a very light surface rust color showing that is as solid as a rock (they sure made tough metal then). It has a lot of the original equipment on it that has never been messed with. I can answer your questions to the best of my ability. I just don't think you will find a Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Door just sitting around that often that looks as good as this one does. Never been wrecked and all the original glass is good. The price that it will go for will allow you to do some things to it. Just having the chrome and body in the shape it is in will help immensely. I am willing to answer any questions concerning the car if you care to e-mail me. I can assist in finding a hauler for the car however the tires are all down just from sitting. It will be leaving zip code 69346 to your zip. We would appreciate a $300.00 deposit to hold the car until payment arrangements can be finalized. I will get the trunk open and get some photos of the trunk floor and get the tires inflated or replaced (we have an abundance of old used tires around the local service station) so we can get underneath. The car is rust free on the rocker panels and I'm assuming that the underneath is OK as well. Most of the old cars around here are really good shape underneath. And this one has been here since it was new. The original owners that lived here have owned the car since the late 1960's and the only other owners I know of are the daughter and husband who changed the title to their name when the parents were deceased. That was in 2005 and they have it at 96,082 miles at that time. I pulled the floor mats up and the floor underneath is very solid and looking good Included photo below). There are no secrets here as it is exactly as I've stated. Very cool car as it reminds me of my old 1965 Pontiac. In 1965 (a year after I got out of the Navy) I ordered from the factory a 1965 Pontiac Catalina 2 Door Hardtop, Capri gold, 421 cu in High Output, rated 376 HP, with a Hurst 4-speed on the floor, high speed cam, headers and 3-2 barrels. What a trip. I often think about it. Ah, the good old days. .
