THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE WHEN IN GEAR. THE BATTERY WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AS IT IS DEAD. What's the Story on this Car? We specialize in wholesaling vehicles to the public. Although we consider ourselves to be quite experienced car buyers, we are after all human beings and do make mistakes sometimes... This vehicle has a few issues that we were unaware of when we purchased it. It appeared to be so clean and well-kept that we in fact paid top dollar for it thinking that it did not need any major reconditioning. As the images clearly portray, this Chrysler Crossfire is in fairly decent condition from a cosmetic standpoint. From a cosmetic standpoint, we didn't really come across any detrimental blemishes either inside or out. It could use a nice cleaning after it is repaired. When we initially acquired the car, it did start. However, there were a bunch of lights on in the dash (i.e. brake, abs, coolant etc). We bought this vehicle at an auction and we were not aware of the issues it had prior to placing an offer on it. Unfortunately, we were under the impression that it needed nothing besides maybe some sort of module which would eliminate the warning lights that were illuminating in the dashboard. When we noticed that it was not shifting properly after acquiring it, we figured it also needed transmission work. However, we did not incorporate this additional reconditioning expense as a factor in our purchase price. So whoever buys the car will have to address those two main concerns - 1) the shifting issue and 2) the multiple lights that are on in the dash. It has been parked for a while now so the battery is dead and will need to be replaced. The front left tire keeps letting out air and once you fill it with air, it just goes flat again after a day or two, so that tire will need to be patched or replaced. The hood struts (that hold the hood up) are inoperable and will need to be changed out. The automatic power-operated rear spoiler stays in the up position and does not go down. These are all of the issues that we are currently aware of on this vehicle. We are a reputable seller here on eBay and believe that "honesty" is the best policy. After reading this, you know everything we know as far as issues with this particular vehicle. Please bear in mind however, we have not driven this vehicle a great distance and there is a possibility that there may be additional issues that it has which we are unaware of. While we definitely addressed all the areas of concern that we have discovered in our listing, it is possible that the car might have additional things that it needs. It is your responsibility as buyer to ask us any questions PRIOR to placing an offer. The above mentioned issues are the only ones we discovered after observing the vehicle. As a wholesaler, we do not have an on-site service facility or any experienced mechanics in our crew. While we do indeed have basic mechanical know-how, we are nowhere near experienced/professional mechanics and I quite frankly would not be surprised if I'm over-exaggerating the issues that this vehicle has. These issues might only cost you a few hundred bucks to take care of or they may be in the thousands...I have no clue. If it does turn out to be the transmission, I've actually spotted quite a few used transmissions right here on eBay being sold for only a few hundred bucks (feel free to do a search yourself). As you can clearly tell from our history of positive feedback here on eBay, we are definitely not in the business of masking/disguising issues and falsely misleading our clients. We believe in the Golden Rule of treating others as we would like to be treated. Aside from the aforementioned issues, I personally think this vehicle is quite a champ and will serve you very well once it is taken care of. So, there you go, now you know the story! Why is this a "No Reserve" Auction? As I mentioned, we unfortunately "over-paid" for this car because we did not catch these issues prior to purchase and are aware that we will ultimately have to lose money on it. The ideal thing to do would have been to repair it and sell it but our facility does not house a service center nor do we employ a mechanic. We would have to take the vehicle to an off-site workshop and get these issues repaired. Since we have "over-paid" for the vehicle to begin with, that would put us in a deeper hole. So we figure that if we're going to lose money anyway, we might as well do so now instead of spending more time and money into it. We do know that the eBay community consists of some experienced and much more mechanically-inclined members than us who will undoubtedly bid this vehicle up to its fair value. We know that we won't get all our money back but we are confident that our fellow eBay members will bid this baby up to what it is worth!
