Item DescriptionUp for sale is a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. The vehicle is equipped with a 1.9-liter, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 222,693 miles - with another 175,000+ miles to go. This vehicle DOES run well. It was driven as a highway commuter back and forth to work until recently, when someone backed into it in a parking lot, damaging the front end. Our insurance agency decided to total it, so we "bought" the car back on a salvage title, planning to repair it ourselves, but just don't have the time. Fuel and mileage records prove it gets 55+ mpg. Handles well, with very good traction on snow and ice. Shifts and brakes smoothly. Comfortably accommodates drivers 4'8" - 6'8". CD player with MP3/iPod hookup installed; existing speakers sound good. Sunroof tilts opens. NEW tensioner and alternator belt, front brake pads, wipers, fuel filter, wheel bearings.
