Vehicle Detail

1967 Porsche 912 Coupe NO RESERVE - NUMBERS MATCHING Thanks for checking out my 1967 Porsche 912 Coupe #355531 SWB, Non Sunroof, #’s Matching Engine #755633 and Matching #’s Transmission #165023, very hard to find these cars with the original engine and gearbox. This car was originally painted a rare Lime Green #62165 with black interior, 5 gauge, non-sunroof which is sought after by many enthusiast. This is a great car that you can drive and enjoy as you restore, when time allows. As you probably already know the Porsche Market is on fire, and the early cars are heavily sought after. The 912 was the continuation of the 356 models, starting in 1965-1969. The 1965-67 to me are the most desirable with the early bubble lights. Also to note, the 912 won the 1967 European Rally Championship with Sobieslaw Zasada behind the wheel, 1967 was a great year for Porsche. The 912 gave a lot of cars their run for the money, even their 911 stable mates. I have included a lot of photos so you can see exactly what I have here before you. This car needs to be restored, but is very usable in its current state. It runs very good, it starts right up every time, has good compression, brakes well, transmission is very smooth. I love to get in and fire this 912 up, they are very fun to drive, they are balanced well and just a pleasure behind the wheel. If you have questions give me a call, I would be glad to answer any that you may have. Thanks Jason 503-910-2085 This car was originally painted Lime Green #62165, it went by Golden Green as well, by some sources. I am not sure when the car was repainted red, many years ago, it has been painted a few times in its life. The paint on the car is not in good shape, out in the sun, it does have a little shine, very little, but when it is over cast, or in a garage under lights you can see lot of splotchy areas, chips, scratches, there are some rust bubbles in some areas. I don't want to give anyone that wrong idea, the paint is bad. With that said, I would drive it to any Porsche or European show, any day of the week, or field meet, it is what it is, to me, it is a work of art, beautiful car, that has stayed intact all these years, with a very unique color combination, only 17 are in the 912 registry currently. Take a look at photos, the car needs some repairs obviously, but structurally it is very sound. It will need the small rust bubbles fixed on the outside of the body, it will need a new floor pan, and trunk pan. But with that said, the inner wheel tubs, the body on the car is very good, inside the wheel housing, the frame supports, jack supports, inner nose, and rear sections have never been hit, inside the door jams and hinge supports are in great shape. This car is in very good shape. It has all of its original sheet metal, besides the rear deck lid which may have been changed. The doors are original, fenders, quarters are original and hood are original to the car, including the front and rear bumpers and valance. The glass is in good shape as well. The roof gutters are very clean, take a look at the pictures and you will get a very good idea. The floorboards have been reinforced for now in the front, so that it can be driven and give support for your feet, and no further damage. The floors in these cars are very easy to replaced, if you have a little do it yourself in you. Inside the bonnet, it is solid, up around the shock towers, no signs of accidents, the battery tray area has been repaired, but not correctly someone a long time ago, just patched it up to keep it solid. Mechanically it this 912 is in great shape. The engine is original, numbers matching as I mentioned earlier. I had the valve covers off and they look very clean, the engine runs very smooth, it likes to warm up a bit, the carbs, will probably need rebuilt at a later date, but they seem to be doing good, when it is cold it spits and sputters a little bit, but overall it runs great. I had a compression check done on it, and they are in good shape, 1-130, 2-140, 3-130, 4-140, very acceptable and within range. Engine runs strong, and has good acceleration. The transmission is the original, 4spd manual, it shifts nicely, stays in gear, and seems in very good shape. The clutch feels good, no chatter, very smooth. The brakes, have been inspected, and fluid has been flushed out of the system with new currently. Brake pads look in good shape, replaced a couple of the brake rubber hoses as well. It stops nice and straight currently, with decent brake pedal. The tires are in decent shape some small weather checking but all in all they are in good shape currently. If you were going to make it an everyday driver, I would probably have them replaced at some point. The original 911 Fuchs are in very nice shape, they are 15X5.5, very hard to find, and just look great on this car. The interior is original, and as you can see from the pictures it needs to be restored. The door panels are actually in pretty good shape, I like to save original parts when I can. Headliner is in very good shape. The front seats and dash pad need the most help, you can see in pictures, cracks, and splits etc. The dash lights all work, the dome lights are not currently working. The Gas gauge works, speedometer, and tach are working, the oil gauge is not working, odometer and trip, and clock are not currently working. The wipers and heater work good in the car. The steering wheel is a MOMO wheel in nice shape, not sure when it was put on the car, I have not seen this MoMo wheel before, it is a Porsche styled wheel though. Check the photos out the interior is pretty straight forward. I drive around in it all the time, and it is pleasant to drive in. Original Numbers Matching engine and transmission, see photos of numbers. The plates on the car do not come with it, just using some out of my vintage collection, thought it would be nice to display with the car. It comes with good Oregon plates. Current Oregon Title, matchesInside door jam tag, matches the Stamp under the bonnet, and tag. Color code #62165 Lime Green, Golden Green, Goldgrun, among the rarest colors produced, under the Rare colors in the 912 Registry, there are currently only 17 that have been unearthed. Maybe someone can enlighten me, what is the 97 in front and the L behind the 62165 paint code. This is obviously another car, but this is the color it was originally. I see this color under chips, on doors, fenders, body, hood. This car does have all of its original panels as far as I can tell. The rear deck lid is the only item that does not look original, unless it was stripped of all of the green, and repainted, which could be, underneath it looks like a white primer were some of the red chipped off. This is the Correct #'s matching engine, 755633 for 1967 engine serial numbers were from 740001-756197, just like the transmission below, they are both toward the tail end of the 1967 912 model year, last 200 cars. Very hard to find numbers matching Porsche 912's, many of these cars engines and gear boxes were replaced, and or upgraded with 911 engines. This is a true find, worth the money when restored, you can put as much money as you want into a non numbers matching car, and at the end of the day, you don't have the pedigree that this car has, which means everything when restoring classic cars, especially Porsches. Correct numbers matching 902/0 Transmission, ID# 165023, this ID number is a 1967, and should range from 163001-165214. This is a late model 1967 Porsche 912, with matching #'s Transmission, within the last 200 912's built that year. As you can see inside, the seats and rest of the interior are original, including the floor mat and need restored. The headliner is in very nice shape as well. The doors shut very smooth, the door glass rolls up and down nicely. Rear pop out windows work good. The steering wheel is Momo Porsche Design, I have not see this wheel before actually, not sure what year it is. White light in dash is Emergency brake. Green light is the high beams. Car is not running at the moment, just the key is on, Red light generator works, and Green light Oil light, when you fire it up they both obviously shut off. Gas gauge does work. Speedometer and Tach both work, but the trip meter and odometer are currently not reading. The car when it was parked a few years ago, they were working, but are not working now. Blue button is the Fog lamps. The radio does work. For the most part, the 912 is straight down the sides, there are a few dings on it. But over all the doors line up nicely, and car is in good shape for a driver project. It took photos in the sun, and when it was overcast, so you could see what it looks like. Out in bright sunlight, from the distance it looks pretty good, but there are lots, of blemishes on the car, old paint touch ups, chips scratches, rust bubbbles in areas. With that said it is a very solid car, structurally it is very sound, it does need some repairs, but this is a Numbers Matching Bubble headlight car 1967 912, so it has lots of potential. The only exterior lights on the car not working are the backup, lic plate (needs bulbs and covers), and drivers brake light not working currently(the lens is really hard to get off, and I did not want to take a chance on cracking the lens, so I just left it, I think at the end of the day it is the bulb. What does it need underneath. Well, it is very solid when it comes the structural parts of the car, all the inner wheel tubs, the frame sections on the pan are excellent. All around the supports are very nice, see the next photos. What it needs is a battery box area, it has been repaired in the past, but not correctly, it needs replaced down the road, and it need front and rear floor pans, They are rusty, and need to be replaced. Under the floor mats, there are a few sheets of metal, to keep from further holes in the floor, and also to keep it safe if you choose to drive the car daily for a while. Rockers are in very nice shape. All the supports are in good shape, jack mounts, torque boxes, inner framing in nice condition. Inside the wheel tubes, here in the back, are in excellent shape, no rust and no damage from any accidents, very clean actually. Inner area behind bumper and front valance very solid, no rust or accident damage. Yep need a new floor pan. The black you see were it is rusty is a sheet of metal under the floor mats, to help protect it for now, until you tackle the floor pan. As you can see in these photos the paint is shot, you are not going to polish it back out, it has been touched up here and there, and it is not in good shape. 911 Fuchs, Original, in nice condition and hard to find. Original mirror. Roof gutters are in very nice shape.
