A '69 Camaro is always cool, and this one's a true factory Hugger Orange on black car. It's got a warmed-over 350, a four speed stick, and all of the graphics and spoilers you could ask for. Get in, drive, and arrive in style! Outside, you'll find little to complain about. The code 72 orange paint is a few years old and shines just as you'd expect for a cruise and show car. The prep work was done well, and the sides are straight. The black vinyl top was a great addition considering how overpowering Hugger Orange can be. There's a steel cowl induction hood in front of you, and moving forward you're greeted by an elastomeric front bumper and Z/28-style chin spoiler. On the sides are the fantastic hockey stick stripes, along with SS badging, and the trunk spoiler is something Chevy should have made mandatory. Trim is everywhere from the quarters to the rockers to the wheel wells, and it's all in great shape. The stance is just right, and the chrome pieces were replaced after the paint went down. You'll turn heads with this car for sure! Inside, you'll find the original bucket seats, properly wrapped in code 711 black, per the cowl tag. For additional comfort you'll find an upholstered center console with a flip up lid and two cup holders... a luxury you wouldn't find in a Camaro until 1993! In your left hand is a Rally steering wheel, and in you right is the big chrome Hurst shifter poking through the floor. An Auto Gauge tach sits prominently on the steering column while a trio of Auto Meter gauges resides under the dash in front of the shifter. A modern AM/FM/cassette stereo is in its proper place below the heater controls and the dash pad is in great shape, as are the door panels and the rest of the trim. Under the hood is some serious motivation. It's a 350 wearing a set of Edelbrock E-Street aluminum cylinder heads, an Edelbrock intake and a Summit Racing 650 CFM four-barrel carb. As a nod to the L89 cars, this engine wears its intake and heads in cast aluminum while Chevrolet Performance valve covers are covered in orange. There's a chrome Chevy air cleaner with a 350 call-out sticker, again a tip of the cap to history. Interestingly, bulletproof exhaust manifolds are in the place where most bolt up a set of leak prone $89 headers. An HEI distributor provides the sparks while new hoses and a newer radiator take care of cooling duties. The power steering and power disc brakes mean that driving effort is nice and low. A dual exhaust system features Dynomax mufflers for a great, low rumble. A newer clutch in the blowproof bellhousing sends power back through a Muncie four speed and on to a 12-bolt hanging out back. A set of 14x7 Rallye wheels wearing trim rings, '67 center caps and BFGoodrich 225/70/14 tires finishes off the look. This is a car that's well sorted, where you can fly in and drive home.
