Original 1962 Volkswagen VW Split Window Bus Here we have for sale an original 1962 Volkswagen VW split window bus. The bus still has its original paint, very nice on the drivers side. The original color is called Turkis green. The bus is considered an 11 window standard bus. Its a more desirable bus because its an earlier split window with the small rear hatch and window. The bus has been in Nevada for a long time. The bus is a project that has a lot of potential. It is fairly rust free with only a few issues in the cargo floor, rear floor and around the front windshield. The front floor is nice. The passenger side of the bus has dents all over it. The rain gutter on that side is pretty wavy and needs to be straightened or replaced. The front nose has been hit before and the body work was started by a total amateur and not finished. The underside is nice and not all rotted out. The frame is solid. The rear wheel wells were cut out and the rear floor has been cut out too. It looks like to get access to the engine. There is a hatch cut in the roof. The rear hatches are in nice original shape. There are headlights, emblem and front turn signals. There is only one rear turn signal. There are the pedals but no shifter. There is no motor but there is the original RGB transaxle and brakes. The front end is all original and not been modified or lowered. The is the original gas tank that is not rusted out. The battery tray is not and not rotted out either. There is no seats or steering column in the bus. The dash is uncut and nice and same with the parcel tray. There are four original 1967 vw bug wheels that are on the bus. Those are all original painted and have a value in themselves. There is no m-code plate. The rear vin and vin stamped in the back all match with the clear Nevada title. Again, this is a total project bus that needs to be rebuilt. It needs work everywhere but with some money put into the bus, you can have a real nice early 1960's split window bus. I can store the bus for up to one month maximum. I can assist in loading. The bus has no brakes or steering wheel so remember that when shipping is arranged. It rolls nice and can be winched on a trailer very well. I welcome overseas bidders.
