Vehicle Detail

1959 Chevrolet Impala The New Chevrolet Impala by General Motors is here for 1959 ! With that above statement, as in 1959, this is really how this automobile should be presented here... This 1959 Chevrolet Impala is as close to a "Factory Dealer Showroom "OK" Used Car" as your ever going to find today in 2014, after only 55 Years! This is basically a UNRESTORED CAR and is all factory correct ORIGINAL, just extensively cleaned and detailed. This Chevrolet was found in a estate storage garage in Leola, South Dakota, approximately in 2009 after sitting much of all the last 35 years. That's right, the last tag issued was in 11 of 1978 as in the front window. Has nice Original paperwork that was still with the car in the glove box! The Original Chevrolet Owners Manual, Original Chevrolet Owner Protection Policy with the local Chevrolet Dealership and new Owner and Salesman's names. This Beautiful '59 was a very babied & always garaged car from day one back in July of 1959. After the car was carefully pulled from storage, then as the dust was washed away and removed, the overall real condition began to show through! ... the TRUE real '59 investigator tell tail signs were now showing this amazing original preserved overall condition... 1.) the front top fender planes are still blacked out with great paint in the centers still showing, 2.) the upper rear window chrome simulated vent accent with the rectangular intake vents are still black and sharp, 3.) the rear trunk center Chevrolet crest emblem still has 70% of its factory original colors, 4.) the side Impala flags are still retaining their sharp colors in Roman Red Chevrolet flags and the checkered racing flags in Black and White, 5.) the dash indicator needles are pristine with bright Orange still showing strong, 6.) the upper rear seat deck top is still beautiful, with no rot, or sun baking or splitting on the seat. With many more signs... All these tell-tail signs really all show the true overall original amazing condition of this 1959 Chevrolet. This is showing a true low mileage original factory, unaltered, true survivor '59 Impala!. The Interior door panels, the main seats, headliner, carpet, rare Chevrolet Crest floor Mats, all 100% original! So many Impala's today are pieced together and the fit is way off, or all mismatched. This is a great example of a simple pure original '59 as it came from the factory in 1959. Please understand in this description, we will be as accurate as possible, with many pictures you can see to be the final judge to see the overall details. Feel free to inspect the car yourself, or send a certified third party. The car is sold "AS-IS" and the condition is a fair and honest evaluation from a certified classic car builder. The car speaks for itself, you cant fake TRUE ORIGINAL, they are only original ONCE! Real PATINA Paint is just that, PATINA Paint. many today are having classics painted to try and have a natural patina look, this one has the natural patina! Yes it has many scratches, tiny dings, chips, upon close paint inspection, but this at "ten feet" looks showroom original Lacquer Paint beautiful! The car has not had any major work done since the late 1970's, until September 2014 with the clean-up and minor touchups to prepare this '59 beauty for sale back to the open road. With most of todays paper stock investments going south, or with radically up and down crazy days in the market, or just not sure what to do with some extra investment money, this is a sure rock solid classic car that keeps going up in value each year. 1959 Impala's are quickly taking over the late 50's era cars, as one of the top sellers with records being set each new year on the auction circuit's. Plant and was delivered to Leola, South Dakota at Rueb Chevrolet & Garage. Dealership Owner Mr. Ed Rueb of Rueb Chevrolet sold the car new to Mr. John Kaul of Leola, South Dakota in the summer of July 1959. Mr. Ed Rube passed away in 1962 and his life notes are with paperwork. The dealership has long been closed. The car remained there in Leola until found in 2009 and then went to Aberdeen, South Dakota for the next 4-5 years. The car then was delivered here to Western Colorado in 2014. The current mileage at time of listing is 73,203 which is correct. Oil tags and coop tags show mileage in 1979 at 71,546. That is only 1,657 miles in the last 35 years! The car has now had new tires installed, correct 7.50 x 14' wide whitewalls, completely inspected & detailed, LIGHT color-sanded and buffed, and THE ENTIRE underside cleaned and then protected with a new thin flat black rust inhibitor seal undercoating, to only protect the beautiful original rust free floors, braces, seams, and x-frame, all 100% rock solid, nothing hidden by this process. Please note: This is NOT a thick undercoat to hide anything, it is just a nice clean look to the underside and the wheel wells! The original Gas tank & Straps were not sealed, still a correct stainless steel original tank as it should be. The overall condition of this car is a strong mid to low 2 - to a high 3, (with a Mint Museum car as a 1, on a 1-6 Scale), 6 as a junkyard car. The paint is still all in 100% Acrylic Lacquer, original in most places, the white top is all original, one small spot touched up, some speckles from age with original patina. The white top of the rear fins and the top of the white trunk lid were repainted in original Snowcrest Acrylic Lacquer, as the storage garage had a leak and the spatters of the years made this a must to redo to be as the rest of the cars beautiful condition, but this was very easy remelt into the original Lacquer paint and to match the overall original condition with still some patina. It was a slow drip spatter from the roof leaking and did not cause any seam or trunk well rot damage and was all cleaned and addressed as you can see in the pictures. The trunk is beautiful with the nicest original factory jack I have ever seen, still looks brand new! THE OVERALL BODY, is very straight and it does have some dings and nicks, and scratches, as a 55 year old used car will have with 73,150 miles. Nothing big, hidden, or bonded over. YES, It has touch ups from over the years, the lower body has some paint touchups mainly, but Lacquer Original Paint melts right into the original old Lacquer paint and is very hard to see where it ends and starts, if at all. The entire car could be color-sanded again for even more deep old scratch removal and more shine. Scratches were due to most likely, simple cardboard boxes on the hood, dragged across the hood, leaving scratches from Grandpa and Grandma's shopping days. Only old body repairs we can see, was the lower outer curve sides on the front fenders, just in back of the headlight area, about the size of a 1/2 hand in area size, repaired on both sides. All the Stainless and Trim is Beautiful, very good, to excellent driver quality trim that could be show with some removal and new buffing. But remember, this is a unrestored car! No bad dings in trim or bumpers. The body and doors & trunk seams are solid and 100% rust free as are the 1/4's and lower quarters. The main trunk floor is all rust free 100% along with the wheel wells and lower spare carrier. All body braces, mounts, main floors, and frame, all 100% rust free. Wheel upper houses all rust free! Solid car all over. No damage known or detected. The interior is all 100% original and has only a few flaws from new. The front seat is sewn at outer seam, rear seat seam sewn at outer passenger side seam, both are ok strong. The main door panels and armrests are amazing for the year, even the lower part of the panels are great! The factory salt and pepper carpet is still very nice and shows only wear on the driver entry points. The floor mats are very rare, Chevrolet original bowtie mats from 1959. The dash and the bright trim work is all amazing also and cant get any better than as new. Everything works but the factory clock and that might work if I have time after a quick oiling and cleaning to it. Weather stipping is great on all windows and doors, trunk only back lip has some suitcase bruises, is original and good. Heater fans great, defrost is working great, both side vents operate great, all windows and side vent windows great, all glass is nice, no cracks or splits, front window just a few normal chips is all! all glass is date coded EZI tinted original glass 'cept for the front windshield, this was replaced a long time ago at some point. All exterior plastic lenses blinkers are original Guide '59 lenses, all the headlights are Original T-3 headlights that all operate and function fine, back-up light super bright n' clean, dash lights, dome light, all nice and bright. Emergency brake works great with warning light that blinks bright red, Radio works loud and clear, glove box looks new and lights up at opening, ash try area looks new and no smoker as the lighter looks new & unused too. Cloth Headliner is overall very nice, with he normal slight moisture type stains that all of the aged original cloth liners have, just due to time and the material type they used, but it has no splits or sags. Cloth Visors are very nice originals also and function fine. Doors operate perfect, all interior locks work great and handles, the trunk latch, and hood latches are all in great operation. The original coded correct GM Keys "9327" as printed in original Chevrolet Protection Policy Paperwork, all operate correctly on outside locks and trunk lock and glove box & original ignition switch. The Car starts with one foot pump on the pedal and one turn of the key, she fires every time. Motor oil is clean, shocks are still the spiral original shocks and that's rare, but new ones would bring a better ride, (but save these old ones if you do, as they can re-fill them now.) The car drives out good, tranny shifts as it should, no big leaks of any kind, a one drip a night and that might even stop after more driving time as it seals up some of them. The Brakes have been redone, Master Cylinder redone, it does brake harder, if your not used to the non-power old brakes of the fifties, exhaust has all been redone, with new muffler and dual chrome back pipes for a real nice look. The Steering is nice & tight and feels good. Tires are all Brand New (10 miles) size is 7.50 x 14" as is correct in a bias ply wide whitewalls for 1959. In closing, this is just a Great Original 1959 Impala waiting to be shown in a "Original Class Unrestored" show, or just driven to have some big FUN again.
