Vehicle Detail

No reserve auction for mostly complete, little rust, no accidents, California car. Comes with a bill of sale only (no title - I put "rebuildable" as title - ebay has no option for parts cars with bill of sale only). If you want to restore and register the car, check your state laws - many states allow registration of older cars with bill of sale only, but some will give you a hard time or it may be impossible. In California if you manage to convince the DMV to allow re-registration, you will also have to pay at least $800 of unpaid registration and other fees, so the car is best for parts or for another state. All body panels are solid, except the engine hood has both front hinges broken off (back of hood locks ok), left front fender has some rust at the contact with rocker panel as shown on a photo and rocker panels have rust bubbling up in places. No signs of accidents or body fillers. The car appears to be originally red and once re-painted black. Door metal is actually in excellent condition (also see one photo of inside of a door). Good door handles with locks which lock (key included). Under the hood components seem complete. Fluids present in engine/radiator/brakes. Using external good battery, turning the ignition key turns the engine and auxiliaries (water pump, alternator), but it does not start – at least the carburetor needs to be rebuilt (has gummed up), maybe more. Transmission shifts smoothly. All glass complete (some scratches on windshield), convertible top is complete including insulation around the window frames, but will probably need new fabric with a new rear window. Interior: very good front seats with a very good condition vinyl, very good seat sliders – one finger operation, not force required. Good condition black carpet. Door panels are straight and solid, but would need re-covering of at least the top section (worn on driver side). Original steering wheel in a fair condition. Cracked wood and top of the dash. Period correct radio with 8 track tape drive (some people treasure those for classic look while installing modern audio equipment in glove box or elsewhere). Under the car – original, mostly solid, some rust, may have some rust holes. The car would be called “rust free” in places like New York, but this is California so I’m describing accordingly :-) Exhaust looks to be in a good condition. Alloy wheels. Tires hold air for months, have excellent thread but are obviously old (at least one shows side cracks), so should not be used for safety reasons. Ideal for someone who already has a rusty or damaged car which needs rebuilding. Or if you just need a few parts – buy the whole car, take what you need and get all your money back (plus more) by parting out the rest. I have no time to part it and no space to keep it – so the whole car must be sold together. Thanks for your interest and good luck bidding!
