Vehicle Detail

1976 ASI Riviera Camper You are bidding on a 1976 Volkswagen bus This is a great example of the ASI Riviera camper version penthouse top. Wife says we have too many vehicles and some need to go !!! soooo...... Ive had this bus for a while now and use it about four times a year to go camping and to the beach and stuff like that , its a really great running bus and gets lots of looks and attention. Ill do my best to describe it and post lots of pics . First off ill list all the good stuff . Solid body with no damage frame is in great shape still has undercoating on the bottom side. All the glass in in excellent shape and has the top of the line reflective silver tint , really helps to keep the heat of the sun out is also great for privacy. The two sliding windows also have a solar screens installed to keep bugs and stuff out. All windows have custom made tiki god curtains that really match the interior quite well. The interior of the bus is also in excellent shape with a very nice upholstery there is a matching hinged center console seat that i have made that closely matches the design of the original center seat/stool. There is the factory sink that has an electric and hand operated water pump and i believe the water tank is approximately 4 gallons. you can also hook up "city water" via hose connection on the drivers side. as well as 110 power. There is also a GREY water holding tank under the bus. next to the propane tank. This bus does come with the original coleman dual burnner camping stove , I have put a quick disconnect on it and the stove section is removable and a spare jump seat is in its place as well. There is an icebox with drain and functions just as an icebox does. Rear seat folds down to nice twin size sleeper enough for two adults. pop top come s up fine but there is on mattress up there i just stored my dry good s up there when we camped. The zippers for the upper window work and the flaps keep the rain out fine. But the bug screens have a few holes in them and probably wouldnt hurt to be stitched up . The forward upper window doesn't have a screen but thats where i mount the a/c unit that is included with the sale of the bus. Its a 6000 btu a/c and keeps the bus nice and cool. I am including a nice little 900 watt ac generator that i use for off grid camping works great for lights, a small fridge and keeping the bus battery charged up The factory table is also included. .There is also a original Tent that connects to the sliding door opening its a nice addition to the bus that more than doubles the area complete with all stakes, poles and ropes. The tent is not damaged in any way and looks like it just came off the showroom floor it is waterproof and has windows that can be sealed off .The 2 liter Dual carb motor was rebuilt before i received the bus, It runs like a champ , no misfires no oil leaks and has had a recent tune up you can drive this baby 70 mph all day long. The transmission is a standard 4 speed that shifts fine with no problems what so ever. The tires (4) are 2 months old and have 99.9% tread they have about 20 miles on them. Now ill tell you what should be repaired on the bus. There are a couple of spots on the seats that stitching is coming apart and needs to be hand stitched each spot is about 2 inches, its not bad but just needs to be addressed. The electric water pump stopped working on me on the last camping trip i had to use the manual pump. There is no upper mattress and the upper side screens need to be stitched. There is a stereo in the dash that works but cd player is shot. The coleman stove works but the regulator for the gas is hit and miss and needs to be replaced , this can be picked up at any rv place. There is some rust starting to form arould the front windshield lower right side and around the side window around the lower section of the window seal. The lower section of the sliding door also has rust bubbles starting to form and would need to be addressed. I tried to replace the rear wheel bearings last summer i got the left side complete and never got around to doing the right . the right side dosent need to be replaced i was just gonna do it because the left side did need to be fixed. I apparently didn't do it right and the left side makes a popping noise im pretty sure since all the bearings are new it was a problem of me not torquing or pressing the bearing into the correct spot. Ok i think i wrote a book here! if (when) i remember anything else i will edit and add it to this post. but please feel free to ask me anything On Nov-02-14 at 08:14:37 PST, seller added the following information: Just found the table that pops out by the sliding door is damaged. the wood on the bottom of table is brittle and the hinge that locks the table into the up position is damaged. The screws pulled out of the wood. Ill be going thru the bus today to get more interior pictures and if i find anymore damage ill edit the post.
