I have been the owner of this numbers matching 1949 MG TC since I purchased it in 1965 in Southern California. I drove it my senior year in college then it was stored at my parents’ house when I went into the service. I drove it two or three times while home on leave but has not been on the road for the last 44 years. I removed it off blocks this fall, cleaned up the interior,reinstalled the seats, changed fluids, installed new battery, new fuel pump and it started right up. Engine oil pressure is steady at 60psi and idles on a warm day at 160 degrees. I rebuilt original master cylinder and replaced a leaking front brake hose, brakes need cleanup, reconditioning and bleeding but will stop. Lighting Wiring will need troubleshooting but engine starts and charges. Body tub is solid. As best as I can tell, original color was red and it was painted once, silver, before I bought it. Lacquer paint has cracked off in some areas and exposed metal has very light surface rust. There are a few small areas with pitting, easily removed by media blasting. Dashboard is as I bought it. Under existing wood veneer is an original dash with stock openings, facilitating return to original with new veneer and ignition switch and horn replacement. I am including new and used spares shown including original jack, tools, knockoff hammer and rare tire pump. Included is the original dash panel and various components to help restore to original. This is a very complete unrestored EXU imported TC, including spring steel bumpers, driving lights, and directional lights. Original top bows and side curtain frames are ready for replacement fabric. Wire wheels are solid. Tires have been on car for 44 years and are not trustworthy. It has a current clear California title, in my name and is registered Non-Op. The odometer reads 51770 miles of which I estimate the last 10,000 were mine, the first year I owned it. I have no documentation to determine original mileage. On Oct-25-14 at 10:21:47 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: I noticed I missed removing all EXU's from my listing. I originally misunderstood that EXU (North American Export) did not pertain to all TC exports with equipment ie. bumpers required for US market.
