Vehicle Detail
For auction is my 1999 Honda XR250R. This bike is excellent condition, and has seen minimal use in it's 15 year life. I was planning on restoring it and converting it to dual sport, but I just don't have the time I was hoping I would. I paid $2000 for it a few months ago, but it needs to go ASAP. My loss is your gain. The dealer I bought it from changed the oil, brake fluid, and air filter assembly. This bike runs very strong, and starts easily when cold. I just ran it today to get the fluids moving, and it still rips. This bike hasn't been modded and run hard, it still has the factory yellow paint on all the fasteners. It is in need of no repairs, and will serve well as a trail bike or more if you want it to. The one thing that does need to be replaced is the headlight bulb, it burned out about 2 weeks after I got it, while riding a fireroad trail I took the bike on. (I was not able to get a replacement at the auto parts store, as it's a non-standard type bulb). These XR's rarely come up, so don't let it get away. *EDIT* I am also including a good XR400 Oil Cooler that will come with the bike. I purchased this a few months ago when I started my plans of Dual Sporting this bike, but never got around to getting much done with it. I've also added some more detailed pictures to display how clean this bike is. I raised the starting bid to $1350, as the more I look at this bike, the more I realize it's basically as close to a new XR250R that you're likely to find. The picture showing the bike with the tank graphics was taken in July, when I bought it. I've since removed the tank decals, as can be seen in the other photos. I did not get around to cleaning the tank, removing adhesive, or other surface prep. The various marks on the plastics are basically just from moving the bike around or boot scuffs, and will all likely rub right out. On Oct-25-14 at 15:35:37 PDT, seller added the following information: The bike has a bid on it, so I just took it out of the garage and started her up. Started on 2nd kick from cold, and runs great. Took it around the block, and brakes are biting hard and gears are clicking like new. I'm a little upset that this bike has to go.
