Vehicle Detail

This was my wife's car for several years and until now has always performed very well. We have extensive maintenance records we'll be happy to provide upon request. Right now, this car has exactly one significant issue: its transmission torque converter seal is leaking. This is the only reason we're selling this car! However, for this same reason, we must ask that the buyer not drive this car until that issue is repaired. This issue is also why the "check engine" light remains on (steady, not flashing) at all times. On the positive side, all of the items that usually start to need replacing after 100,000 miles have all been replaced with all new parts. Here's a list of the most significant replacements or repairs to this car over the past 4 years: May 2014: Both front lower ball joints replaced October 2013: Rear brake pads and rotors replaced. Hand brake cables replaced. July 2013: A/C serviced and recharged with coolant. No leaks found! May 2012: Front brake pads and rotors replaced.January 2012: Front sway bar links (both sides), left upper ball joint, and right inner tie-rod end, were all replaced.June 2011: Center brake light bulb replaced.February 2011: All four tires replaced.February 2010: 115,000 mile maintenance cycle per manufacturer specs. Hood latch and pivot assembly replaced. Finally, a few other minor details that may be of interest:This car consistently gets excellent mileage, sometimes even better than its EPA rating (especially on the highway). The "SRS" dashboard light is on at all times - but the specific issue triggering this dashboard light is not in the SRS! The problem is the seat-belt sensor that confirms the seat belts are fastened. This was a known design weakness in the 2000 Accord that Honda attempted to repair for us - under warranty - three times. The fourth time this sensor failed, my wife gave up on it."Cruise control" (which would usually be a standard feature on this model) is not listed here because the cruise control device hasn't worked in at least 8 years. Like the transmission, repairing the cruise control would be relatively cheap in parts but very expensive in labor. Unlike the transmission, cruise control is a luxury, not an essential part of the car, so we didn't spend the money to fix it. The electric motors in the power side view mirrors still work, but the resulting movement of the mirrors is much less smooth than it used to be.
