Vehicle Detail

I bought this car in the late 1990’s. The car has logged very few miles and seen zero rain since then. Odometer reads approximately 52,000 miles, but I cannot vouch for accuracy of that reading. This is an unfinished hobby that unfortunately must be sold. Kids are grown and gone, we downsized and I have no storage for it. (Wife’s convertible slated for the garage in winter.) Color is maroon (a late 1990’s VW color, not the original carmine red) and has a fairly new tan interior and top (actually several years old, but again not driven much). Switched carbs to dual Webers which has made the car very reliable. Frame is rock solid. When purchased, the car had a dealer sticker from Arizona, rust is not an issue on this car. Good compression all around. Rear lever shocks replaced with telescoping shock kit (Car will come with the original lever socks in the event you want to go original). New wood dash board. Excellent Coker red line tires. Definitely not a show car, but very nice driver. As I said, this is an unfinished project. Heater fan is seized. I have a used heater box with a good fan purchased on ebay, just haven’t had time to install it. Car also does not have a radio. This gives you the opportunity to do what you like. The trunk is un finished. Again, I have the panels for it, just have not gotten around to it. Time has been short since we moved. Full disclosure: as I have been looking at other cars on ebay while writing this, I noticed an issue with rear differential mounts on these cars, there has been is a slight knocking in the rear recently, Didn’t know what it was and I have not had it checked out. Paint is in great shape, but a small ding on top near passenger door (see pic). My kid dropped something on it years ago. Yes, she survived the incident. You also get any spare parts that I have for it. Examples: Radiator hoses, ignition coil, synchronizer for Weber Carbs, Gear oil, various spare light lenses, fan belt, Union Jack decals for rear, repair manuals, and a bunch more I can't think of at the moment.
