The Datsun 521 Pickup was a facelifted version of the 520, with "Flat Deck" Style which meant a flattened bonnet and flattened fenders as well as a new grille design using the same styling and the same 1595 cc, 96 hp OHC L16 engine as the Bluebird 510. The 521 was produced from mid 1968 through February of 1972 making it a very rare model. This 1970 Datsun PL521 was purchased in the high desert of Boise, ID from original ownership. This truck is an excellent, (running, driving, shifting, stopping), platform for a pristine 521 build. The body on this 44 year old classic has no rust rot or cancer, is very, very, straight and with all the body panels lining up perfectly one must assume it has never been wrecked. Head lights high/low beam, brake lights, running lights, turn signals, backup lights, dash lights, fuel gauge, cab light, original AM radio, wipers and heater are all operative. Numbers matching original block. 1600 cc with 4-speed manual transmission. This truck runs, drives, shifts and stops as it should. Perfect candidate for restoration or drive it as it is. Recent work includes: fuel tank/system clean, carburetor rebuild, clutch master replaced, clutch slave rebuilt, front wheel cylinders replaced, brakes adjusted, bulbs/ lights replaced, new ignition switch and new battery. Currently licensed and clean WA State Title.
