The outside: This is a nice running driving bug, starts right up. Floors are solid, heater channels are solid and no rust, even the body is solid, there is one rust hole on the inside of the left front fender, you can only see it by looking behind the front tire, its very hard to see and I couldn't take a good picture of it. other than that there is no other rust holes that I can see.the doors close like a new VW would, in fact when the windows are close the car is so air tight that the doors are hard to shut ( just like when the vw beetles were new). the body gaps for the doors are perfect. The body is mostly in primer, and will need some minor dings/dents repaired sanding and paint to be a show car. For now it's just a nice driver. The inside: The carpet is in nice shape, the front seats are worn but the back seat is in good shape. The headliner is sagging in the rear. The radio is an AM/FM cd player, it is not hooked up, Blinkers work but the horn and a few of the lights don't work, there are a few fuses missing and I believe that is the problem. Not sure where to even get VW fuses, they are different then the normal glass fuses. All windows are in good shape. The engine and drivetrain: it has a rebuilt engine that has approximately 10,000 miles on it. The engine runs excellent and does not smoke. The transmission shifts smooth. I believe this car will drive anywhere but it has not been on the road since 2011. other stuff you should know: I have a transferrable registration for the car, NYS did not have titles before 1973. if you live in NY you will not have a problem getting the car registered. Out of state buyers shouldn't have a problem either but you might want to check with your DMV. I have been brutally honest with the description, so when you see the car it will be what you expect. No. There is no rust on the body, there is surface rust underneath the car as you may expect on a 40+ year old car. What it needs to be put on the road? The only thing I believe it needs to be put on the road is to get the horn and the lights that are not working, working.
