Up for auction is a 2003 Ford F 150 dedicated CNG (compressed natural gas only) pickup. This is the 7700 GVW version, a heavy duty version of the F 150. This was a fleet vehicle, and was well maintained. It has traveled less than 34,000 miles. The facility that operated the vehicle cancelled their CNG program. The vehicle was running in early 2014, but during the last CNG charge, an insect got lodged in the filling valve, and it no longer could accept fuel. Upon valve removal and inspection, the insect parts were cleaned out of the screen/filter, but the valve had a slight leak at the seal when running, and eventually the vehicle did not have enough fuel pressure to run. When the ignition is shut off, the tank valves close, but the slow loss was not detected when running resulting in the low pressure condition. A replacement valve was purchased, but not installed, it is shown. The replacement valve and the suspect damaged valve are included in the auction. I do not have access to a CNG charging station, so vehicle can not be demonstrated in running condition. The rest of the mechanical condition of this vehicle is very good to excellent. Cosmetics are very good. No body damage. You will need to take my word on the insect story and my 100% feedback rating to form your own opinion, but I will start the auction low enough to make it a good deal for anyone looking for parts or to bring this truck back to operating CNG condition.
