You are bidding on a used 1988 Mercedes Benz sedan, model 560SEL with a clear title. This was the largest and best equipped car sold by Mercedes in 1988. It is is running and driving condition but will not pass NYS inspection because of a crack in the windshield. I used this car as reliable and safe local commuter car for the last 18 months and it has been very reliable once I fixed the host of small problems that the car had. This car was in service until late August and because of its current condition I am selling it as a parts car or for restoration. I am the third owner, the second owner did give me some receipts for work that was done under his watch. This included brake, exhaust and suspension work. There is rust in the bottom of the rear doors, the clear coat is peeling and the rest of the paintwork is dull. The chrome is OK, but the front bumper chrome has rust holes. Please look at the pictures closely for more details.The opening bid price barely covers the cost of the radiator and sheepskin covers so please don't ask if will take less for the car The following work was done over the last 18 months:Replaced leaking radiator and hoses.Replaced driver power seat base and harness, replaced broken seat springs.Replaced rear window regulator motor.Replaced leaking fuel regulator at throttle bodyReplaced headlight door plastic and fog-light bulbsNew OEM Bosch oxygen sensor installedInstalled Australian sheepskin covers on front seats.Coming with the car are the following parts that should be replaced::New oil pressure sender at oil filter housing (old one is intermittent)New thermostat and gasket Also noted are the following details about the operation of the car:All power windows go up and down.The rear power seat works.Front and back seat heaters work.The front driver side brake caliper is leaking slightly and will need the be overhauled or replacedThe sunroof was working intermittently in the past past and now will not open.The A/C does not work, Heating and venting works properly.The exhaust has a small leak that be heard at idle but not under power inside the car.
