A STORM POPS UP AND DUMPS 3 INCHES OF RAIN WITHIN 30 MINUTES. WE WERE LOCATED NEXT TO A DRAINAGE OUTLET AND SUBSEQUENTLY HAD FOUR VEHICLES THAT WERE WATER DAMAGED. THE WATER WAS FLASH FLOOD WATER AND CAME FROM THE ROOF OF THE SHOPPING CENTER AND THE ASPHALT PARKING LOT, IT WAS RELATIVELY CLEAN WATER. THE WATER ROSE BARELY ABOVE THE ROCKER PANELS AND SOME GOT INSIDE OF THE CAR. THE WATER SUBSIDED JUST AS FAST AS IT CAME UP. WITHIN 30 MINUTES THE VEHICLE WAS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP. SEATS AND CARPETS WERE PULLED OUT AND DRIED ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS AND FLUIDS WERE CHECKED. I REPORTED WHAT HAPPENED TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY SAID NOT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES AND TOTALED THE VEHICLE. I BOUGHT THE CAR BACK FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR ABOUT A 1500 MILES SINCE THEN. NO DASH LIGHT’S OR ANY SIGN OF DAMAGE TO ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS OCCURRED. THE CAR HAS NO ODOR AND SMELLS LIKE A 14000 MILE CAR SHOULD.THIS VEHICLE IS AND HAS THE APPEARANCE OF A VERY WELL CARED FOR AND LOW MILEAGE CORVETTE. I LOVE THE CAR, IN FACT I WAS GOING TO KEEP IT FOR MYSELF. I HAVE DRIVEN IT 1500 MILES IN 2 MONTHS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS CAR WILL HAVE A PREVIOUS SALVAGE TITLE. BE AWARE, IT IS DIFFICULT TO GET A LOAN AND OR INSURANCE ON A PREVIOUS SALVAGE VEHICLE. WHEN THIS CAR WAS NEW, IT WAS TAKEN TO MC RACING IN KS CITY. THEY INSTALLED A HI LIFT CAM, COMPLETE MAGNAFLOW EXHAUST SYSTEM, HEADERS AND K&N AIR FILTER. THEY DYNO TUNED THE COMPUTER FOR PERFORMANCE.THE ENHANCEMENTS SHOULD ADD A HUNDRED HORSEPOWER, FOR A TOTAL OF 530 HORSE POWER. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSURING VEHICLE.
