1965 Mercedes Benz 230SL Mercedes v8 Conversion, appears to be a professional install. I purchased the 230sl as-is. The previous owner drove the 230sl for many years with the v8. He said the 230sl performed wonderfully! As you can see in the video, the engine turns over and starts with fuel at the intake. As the 230sl has sat for several years, the tank needs to be cleaned and the pump replaced. I would also perform a full fluid/filter service and inspect all systems to determine any additional needs. Also, the ignition key is missing. The tumbler was removed to unlock the steering. Any competent key shop should be able to make a key from the tumbler. Cosmetically, the paint polishes nicely and could be touched up if you want a car that looks good from five feet. However, if you want a show car, a respray is advisable. Importantly, the Hardtop and Softtop are present and the Interior appears complete, except the radio. Of course, the softtop and interior fabrics should be replaced. Overall, I consider this an excellent 230sl to tidy up, drive and improve along the way. Alternatively, you can source the correct m127 engine and restore this 230sl to factory standards!
