It hurts my soul, but there is just not room or time for two bikes. I saw this bike for the first time in 2006, where it sat unridden for another five years. I acquired it in 2011 and have ridden it a little more than 1,000 miles. The R65LS was made for three years, 1982-1984. According to my sources, there were less than 300 sent to the United States in 1984 and silver was the rarest color. The specimen has approximately 11,790 miles and is in superb condition for its age. It has two minor defects. First, the left exhaust pipe is oxidized and is not shiny like the right one, apparently a common problem. You can buy a new one for about $450 if you really want them to match. Second, there are four small holes (1/4 inch) in the Hans Muth fairing where a previous owner had mounted a windscreen. You can fill them with black silicone or epoxy and they would nearly disappear. The paint is in extremely good condition and is almost a mirror when waxed. All of the following items have less than 1,500 miles on them - rebuilt carburetors, new Hall sensor, new fork springs and adjustable rear Koni shocks. This is one of the, if not THE, lowest mileage 1984 R65LS in the United States, perhaps the world. It has a beautiful rumble, is a blast to ride and turns heads everywhere.
