Vehicle Detail
Out of space to keep this car... Price lowered... This is a real SS 396 Convertible. Not a clone or tribute. Here is the deal with the car- details Paint is about 10 years old, a few very minor chips here and there, car has won shows recently. Body is straight, no rust top or bottom. Trim is all either new or near perfect Engine is a rebuilt 396 hydraulic lifter motor. I do not have history, but runs strong. There are a few not stock items on the engine but could easily be "restored"; edlebrock manifold and carb, late GM HEI ignition, early 70s configuration alternator/water pump Transmission is a Powerglide. I am told this is a pretty rare configuration, but I have not run the numbers. Disc brakes and booster are not stock. Back brakes stick slightly sometime (never been a big deal) -think either the proportioning valve used for the conversion was not correct, or rears were not adjusted correct to accommodate discs in front. Interior is excellent; passenger seat trim needs a piping clip, rear soft package tray has some missing hog rings. Stock voltmeter does not work. Car has knee-knocker tach works. Clock works. Stereo is aftermarket and has 4"rounds in kick panels. Stereo can easily be restored. Top and parade boot are in perfect condition. Bottom of car is clean as top. Trunk is perfect! Correct spray, correct and new mats and tire covers, jack, decals, etc. This is not a perfectly restored to a fanatic's quality car, but it is not a highly modified car either. I would say it is too clean to be a daily driver, but it is not a trailer queen. Drive this car to shows and cruises, etc. I purchased the car about 3 years ago. I bought it from a broker/dealer in CA, sight-unseen, over the internet, and was pleased with it when it arrived. It is cleaner and closer to stock now as I have been checking little fixes and mini projects on the car off my list. Nothing is forcing me to sell the car. If you are looking for any nice muscle car, this is that. If you are looking for a nice 66 SS Convertible, this is THE car. NO trades PLEASE! Car is advertised locally and I reserve the right to sell locally up and until PAYMENT IS MADE by eBay buyer.
