Vehicle Detail
1989 Toyota Pickup DLX (Deluxe) 4wd Standard Cab Long-bed 22RE 2.4L engine (199,900 miles) Basically this is a blue 1989 Toyota Deluxe (DLX) 4-wheel drive standard cab long-bed pickup truck with the 22RE 2.4-liter 4 cylinder engine and a W56 5-speed transmission and about 199,890 miles. This is also one of the long-bed Toyota trucks that was manufactured in Japan as proven by the J (Japan) VIN. It's in very good condition and runs like a champ. Please read description, view photo gallery and also look at the photos in the listing body for full details... what you see is what you get. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I have owned this truck since nearly new (over 2 decades) and always made supreme upkeep a priority because of my love for Toyota 22RE 4x4 trucks. This one has been run only on the highways with no off-road abuse. Also, for the past 20+ years this truck has been only in the southern US (mainly GA and FL). I had planned on keeping this vehicle for the rest of my life but new job prospects demand I change vehicles. This is an unmolested OEM stock Toyota truck except when the exhaust system was replaced the stock manifold was swapped out for a Downey header, the air filter was replaced with a K&N aftermarket unit, and there are probably a few other assorted upgrades I've done over the years. This truck does not burn or leak any oil or fluids. I've used and changed the Mobile 1 Extended performance synthetic engine oil every 3,000 miles over the life of this truck (and it was changed a few hundred miles ago). There is synthetic Red Line oil in the differentials, transmission, and transfer case. Also, I've noticed nearly no one posts pictures of the undercarriage of their 4x4's when listing, so I've included full underbody shots along with the others so you can better know the true condition of the vehicle outside of a good wax job. It includes a Rino Liner spray in bed liner, sliding rear window, Wet Okole's neoprene waterproof seat covers (seats have been covered for over 15 years and the original seats underneath are in very good condition but I am leaving the covers on). It also includes 4 Toyota 4runner OEM 15x7 aluminum rims w/ Goodyear Fortera P235/75R15 SilentArmor tires (and good tread remaining as visible in the pictures). Work within last 10k miles includes: a Marlin Crawler remanufactured HD W56 transmission, new (NOT remanufactured) 4Runner spec higher output alternator, new heavy-duty timing chain with steel guide (including new oil pan seal, a new water pump, a new oil pump, drive belts, all coolant hoses and other assorted bits), plus, the valves were adjusted. Also, this truck has less than 5k miles on the rebuilt front axles: This includes new front brake rotors, factory rebuilt brake calipers with carbon fiber pads (low dust on rims), new wheel bearings & seals (plus full synthetic grease repack), rebuilt and repacked front axle arms [CV joints], new spindle nuts, serviced (lubed and cleaned) hubs, new sway bar bushings and end links, assorted gaskets, etc. Other work done within the last few years: the rear end was rebuilt by Toyota (included pinion & carrier bearings, pinion seal & crush sleeve), put in new distributor assembly, added a decent AM/FM radio and new speakers, installed a new fuel pump and fuel tank, new speedo cable (plus all new long life dash and instrument cluster lights), etc. There has been lots of other maintenance and care items dealt with on this vehicle, but I am just trying to mention the biggies and the main things I remember. Things to consider: 1) Rust underneath paint on passenger lower door shell only. You can view passenger open door photo in gallery to see it has not carried beyond the door shell.2) Rust next to windshield seal (scroll to bottom of page and view 2 photos with yellow highlighting).3) Cracked aftermarket PIAA driving lamp lens (these are visible in the lower front valance). Note: This truck came from the factory with NO A/C and it has never been retrofitted (In other words: there is no air conditioning system on this vehicle). All information is to the best of my knowledge but "car sold in as-is condition" with no warranties expressed or implied. Again... please feel free to contact me for any reason. Thanks for the interest!
