1985 was the last year Mercedes built the gorgeous 300CD 2 door coupe . They made these legendary cars from 1978-1985 , but only for the last 4 years with the turbo version . They are known to be the most reliable and enduring cars Mercedes ever produced. You often find them with over 500k miles and still running well .  This particular car was finished in Nautical Blue  ( MB color code 929) with beige leather ( yes leather , not MB-Tex) . It is a stunning color combination and i have not seen another one quite like it . The body is straight and without dings or dents. The paint is in amazing shape and still shines like on a much newer car .  The leather was a rare option in 1985 . Since the car only has 110k miles on it and was mostly garaged, the interior is still in great condition . There are no rips or tears in the seats and the leather still feels soft . Even the wood panels are still wonderful .There are no cracks or chips and they still shine . This car really sticks out and i do get compliments on it all the time . But the nicest thing about this very low mileage 29 year old car is the way it drives. It has lots of power in town and on the freeway . It cruises effortlessly at 90 miles per hour all day long , while still getting 26-28 miles per gallon of diesel . This 300CD has been well maintained and it shows . The first 18 years it was mostly maintained at the dealer and at independent Mercedes repair centers afterwards . The car does come with the stamped service book and all the manuals. Just recently we replaced the front windshield , due to some rock chips .We had a full service done including a valve adjustment and fluid and filter changes. The AC compressor is new and the system has been converted to the newer freon . The Air conditioning works well / blows cold . All the gauges work the way they should . The sunroof functions well and the power windows go all the way up and down . The power door locks work well and so does the power antenna . There are no vacuum issues at all . The transmission shifts smooth and fast through all the gears . The original radio has been replaced with a newer unit with remote and a cd-player.  I would prefer to sell this car locally to somebody who could actually come out and see it . But i would also be willing to pick up a winning out of town bidder  from LAX or assist in shipping arrangements. All shipping fees will have to be paid by the winning bidder .  I did take a lot of pictures and they can describe the car better than i could.
