Nice and clean rust free 1996 Geo Metro with the 3 cylinder and the 5 speed manual. It is my daily commuter and the mpg is fantastic, I normally get 44 to 48 mpg without trying. No mechanical issues whatsoever, starts right up, idles smooth and does not leak or smoke. I had the car repainted to the original Slate Green due to some clear coat peeling (which is common on these cars). Oil changes every 5k with Mobil 1 synthetic since I have owned it. The timing belt and tensioner were replaced at 101,000 along with a new water pump, belts, hoses, plugs/wires, etc. The transmission fluid was drained at replaced with Pennzoil Synchromesh also. Brakes and rotors were replaced a couple of weeks ago and the tires have about 4k miles on them. The service engine soon light is on and was on when I bought it, probably a O2 sensor but performance and MPG are great so I never bothered with. The only things I know it needs is the hatchback struts, they are weak and since I never use it I haven't replaced them yet. Also, the headliner is sagging as pictured but its not bad. I put the dash cover on to hide the common discoloration you see on these cars but it is not cracked. I have invested a lot of money in this car since I have owned it but if you have ever owned one of these you will agree they are worth it. There is and will never be a modern car that is as simple and easy to work on as the Metro and return MPG numbers that rival a Prius - at a fraction of the price. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, its not the fastest but it will get you there and cheaply! Bid with confidence!
