Vehicle Detail

1962 PLYMOUTH VALIANT V200 2-DOOR SEDAN DRIVE TRAIN -- 225 cid inline 6-cylinder engine, 3-speed 'push-button' automatic, rear wheel drive. Engine is freshly tuned with new points, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, radiator has been re-cored. INTERIOR -- all freshly redone including carpeting, seats, door panels, rear seat quarter panels, rear package shelf and headliner...IT'S ALL NEW WITHIN THE PAST MONTH AND NICELY MATCHES THE EXTERIOR COLOR! EXTERIOR -- newer repaint in a pleasing turquoise pastel single-stage finish (not the factory-correct color, but very appealing on this car. Some orange peel and flaws are evident in the finish, but doesn't detract from the overall appeal of the car. All exterior side trim has been removed and professionally straighten and polished. Both bumpers have been re-chromed. The door handles and trunk garnish trim has some hazing and pits. The anodized aluminum grille surround and hood-center trim shows some dullness, but still very nice and straight. FUNCTIONALITY -- This car runs and drives nicely...we've put about 200 miles on it in the past month, it is a pure joy to drive and is very realiable. All gauges, lights, wipers, radio, turn signals and heater work properly. We just installed NEW, correct bias-ply wide whitewall tires and the car handles nicely and steers easily even without power steering. No shakes, shimmies or bad behavior on city streets or the open highway! The car starts easily and runs quietly with no leaks, knocks or smoke. OVERALL ASSESSMENT -- a good 'driver-quality' collector car that you can drive easily and with confidence to any local car show or cruise-in. This is the desirable V200 with deluxe trim, radio, larger 225 cid inline, 'slant-6' engine backed by the convenient 'push-button' 3-speed automatic transmission. Options include electric wipers, radio, deluxe trim and more. You will love this great little car that enjoys a tremendous cult following. In the early 1960s the 'Big Three' auto-makers were competing for the compact/economy car market. The Valiant debuted in 1960 as a free-standing brand competing against the Ford Falcon, Chevy II & Corvair and others. The Plymouth brand name was added in 1962 which was the final year of the '1st Generation' Valiant before a complete body style change the following year. HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO OWN ONE OF THE TRULY UNIQUE MOPARS OF THE EARLY 1960s! DISCLAMER -- This vehicle is being sold 'as-is/where-is' with no warranty expressed or implied. I strongly encourage all bidders to CALL ME TO DISCUSS YOUR CONCERNS/QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS CAR BEFORE YOU BID AND TO COME SEE THE CAR IN-PERSON IF POSSIBLE.
