THIS LITTLE CAR IS AMONG THE MOST HIGHLY COVETED OF THE CROSLEY LINEUP. IT HAS BEEN IN COLLECTORS HANDS FOR YEARS WITH A CHAIN OF OWNERSHIP DOCUMENTED BACK INTO THE EIGHTIES AT LEAST. SHE SPENT YEARS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THEN WENT TO NEVADA WHERE IT WAS STORED INDOORS. THE CAR RUNS AS IT SHOULD AND SHIFTS FINE. IT HAS HAD IT OIL CHANGED AND BRAKES WERE INSPECTED AND FOUND TO HAVE A LOT OF LIFE LEFT. ALL THE BODY PANELS SEEM TO LINE UP WELL. BUYER TO COOPERATE WITH PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS, CASH AT THE TIME OF PICK UP OR SIMILAR METHOD. BELOW MY FIEND WROTE A SHORT ARTICLE ON THESE CARS AND POWELL CROSLEY The once disrespected and derided "little cars", are now coming into their own explosive growth as "Micro-Cars". Cars that once were sent off to the scrap heap (even charging the owners for the removal), are now selling at prices that match or even eclipse classics. This was evidenced in the "Micro-Car" auction held in the South some months ago. The breath-taking prices were not expected; the prices continue to go up! Powell Crosley was a man of many talents. His first really successful venture was building and selling radios. He reasoned that radios costing some $90 (in the 1920's) were quite overpriced. He set out to build a quality radio that retailed for as little as 1/3rd the price of existing radios. He went on to building refrigerators, and introduced the feature of the "Crosley Shelvador".. This feature has endured, and you will find that every refrigerator of today contains this innovation. Mr. Crosley went on to own a ball team and a "flame-thrower" radio station, etc. Then finally he decided that our country needed an inexpensive (yet roomy enough for Mr. Crosley's 6 foot plus frame) automobile, and in 1939 (model year) he began production of the Crosley car. Production continued until 1952 at which time the sales volume did not justify continued development, and the factory was sold. There is much more to this story, including the additional products developed and sold, plus it is of interest to know that all items were produced in the USA.
