A very much part-time and thorough restoration started in 2009 and finished in 2013. Last of the North American chrome bumper cars. Only a few hundred miles since engine overhaul and vehicle restoration. Rotisserie restored, POR 15 sealed & undercoated. Rebuilt front end and new rack & pinion steering, 90% new brake system (reused front calipers), brand new wiring except inside dashboard. Engine professionally rebuilt by Walker’s in Memphis, Tennessee. New Weber downdraft carb, new clutch master, clutch slave and hoses, radiator, fuel tank, and most body seals replaced, as well as many new or rebuilt engine bay parts. Completely stripped and refinished gloss black with tan top. No rust found during restore. Body and paint is remarkable overall (especially in black color), with the only flaw being an area of 'pinholes' in the paint finish on the passenger door noticeable only from two feet away......if you are looking for it. You will be hard pressed to find one straighter. New bumpers, complete new interior, dash, carpets, spare tire, convertible top w/zip-out rear window, boot cover/rod/storage bag. Original jack and tool kit in trunk. Four running tires are about 70% condition. An MG service and drivers manual, a Haynes service manual, electrical troubleshooting manual and some miscellaneous spare parts including original twin Carbs come with the vehicle. Owner has scanned all restoration and parts receipts and can make those available upon request. Also have a fair number of photos from the restoration. The vehicle does not have the emissions equipment with it. Turn signal switch does not always shut off automatically. I have not had time to troubleshoot that yet.Complete receipts available.
