1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Excellent straightforward and easy project 911! This Porsche appears to be a 1 owner car. The owner represented the top end service was performed approximately 40k miles ago. This Carrera has the right look!Excellent Color Combination of India Red over Black with contrasting Black Fuchs RimsFactory Optioned with the desirable Whale Tail and Front Chin Spoiler. Cosmetically, the 911 is a great driver. The paint shines nicely and looks great from 5 feet away. However, there are certainly blemishes and imperfections. Overall, from a cosmetic perspective, I would not hesitate to drive the 911 as-is. The paint is very presentable. The front seats should be recovered. The interior appears largely original. You can clean and tidy up the interior to make it serviceable or consider it an excellent base to take to the next level. Mechanically, I have driven the 911 around the block a few times to get a general feel for the car. I noted the 911 starts immediately. At cold operating temperature, there is a hesitation and miss. I believe the hesitation is a fuel delivery/varnishing issue that will likely clear up with some regular driving, after driving a couple hundred miles. When the 911 is at operating temperature, the hesitation clears a bit and the 911 appears to perform better. I drove up to approximately 35 mph during the test run. I tested all gears. The 911 pulls strong through the gears and the clutch appears to operate properly. I would recommend a full fluid/filter service and tune up as a starting point. Overall, I consider this an excellent project 911! This is a great car to drive and improve along the way. Air-Cooled Porsches are commanding strong prices.
