Vehicle Detail

This is a no-reserve auction but I have the vehicle for sale locally and reserve the right to cancel the auction if the car sells locally 1st. (asking $9000). 2003 VW Jetta TDi Wagon with automatic transmission. The car has a small ding on the drivers side fender and a circular crack in the bottom center of the windshield... that is about all that is wrong with this car. I had the engine replaced (have receipts) about a month ago after the timing belt went and caused all sorts of heartache on father's day. I have driven the car about 1000 miles since I got it back and it is amazing. The fuel economy is between 35 and 40mpg and it has power. New tires (Firestone Champion HR 195/65R15) with road hazard warranties were installed on 6/5/2014 by Firestone Auto Care. I've always used Mobil 1 5W-40 Synthetic for the oil changes. The coolant was changed when the engine was replaced as well. The EGR components have been removed and the check engine light is on due to that. I can provide a screenshot from my laptop showing that is the only code that the computer is throwing. A VW shop should be able to modify the EGR flow using VDCS software. I just have the "basic" VDCS which lacks the ability to make hardcore adjustments, so I just live with the CEL being on. From what I've seen on the TDi forums, the removal of the EGR shouldn't pose any problems getting your vehicle to pass emissions in a State that requires emission testing. The A/C blows ice cold and all components work perfect. The car hasn't been smoked in and there are no rips or tears in the fabric on the seats. On Aug-14-14 at 19:40:13 PDT, seller added the following information: -update- A local buyer is interested, he offered $8000 after looking it over and taking it for a drive but I'm not pulling the auction until he shows up with the $$.. and I'm not holding my breath. Added pictures of 3 areas of interest. 1st is very minor, but I just noticed a small crack in the driver side taillight when we looked over the car this afternoon. 2nd the fabric is worn off in front of the passenger side seat belt. 3rd I took a picture of the VCDS engine code fault. I'll also include a the VCDS cable since I won't have any use for it. Not a big deal since I think I bought it for $15, but nice to have anyhow. I should also mention that the water pump and timing belt are the 100k mile replacement ones (rollers were also replaced). Before it went to the shop I cleaned all the soot build up out of the intake. I absolutely love the way it runs, drives and just feels solid as any car I've driven. We bought a Subaru Outback to replace the Jetta when it was still in the shop (the mechanic wasn't sure if he would be able to locate a good used ALH engine). After getting it back I would rather sell the Subaru or our Excursion... but with triplets that are 6, and growing like weeds, we'll need a bit more room than what the Jetta offers. :(
