This particular 1965 VW Westfalia Camper known to all of our family as "Happy Camper" is located in Smithfield North Carolina and has been with us longer than any of our children. She has been stored for 17 years in our garage. Before that my father bought it from a guy in Pennsylvania around 1985 and owned it for 7 years. We used to take it to VW shows! in 1992 sold it to a friend of the family who had it until approx. 1997. He eventually ended up selling it back to us 17 years ago unfortunately with no engine. This is an incredible opportunity for someone to restore her back to her original glory. For 49 original years old you would be hardpressed to find a better project vehicle. "Happy Camper" has optional gas heater, original camper interior, optional side tent, pop-top canvas, ice box, working fresh water tank and whale pump, window screens, original table, lots of storage, compass, altimeter, leveling gage, wired for 2 six volt batteries which enhance starting ability, optional AM-FM radio and curtain rods. ( the curtains disingrated in 1999 when I went to wash them) The undercoat carriage has original undercoat and apperars to be rust free, front rt passenger floor has small hole and surface rust, rt and left rocker panels will need to be repaired or replaced, small dent in left rear corner, surface rust under rear cushion, some water damage to paneling but can be used for templates, unfortunatly besides the missing engine 3 0f the 4 tent legs are missing but could easily be recreated using the fourth as a template, no child cot never had it.
