Vehicles shown by appointment ) 1966 Ford Mustang This classic Mustang has had an easy life by vehicle standards. With only two previous owners and a lifetime of love and service, this is one that we'd call an "honest car". This one has never been a junkyard car. It's not a conglomeration of parts from a number of other cars. This car is mostly as it rolled off of the assembly line in 1966, with what is believed to be the original engine and in the original colors as denoted on the original door tag. We've provided here, what we believe to be an accurate representation of the car in photos and info. There are many large and close up photos below which should give a buyer a very very good idea about the quality of this particular Mustang. We think that you'll agree... this is a very nice 1966 Mustang Coupe that would make a very happy weekend or daily driver if someone wanted a really nice little original Mustang to cruise around in. Enjoy the photos... Factory Wimbledon White exterior in great condition. The car was restored in the early 2000's by the original owner. A GT style rocker stripe was added for a little extra pizazz, however the car remains mostly as it rolled off of the assembly line in 1966. The exterior trim and bright work are in great shape. The bumpers, side spears, lettering and emblems look to have been replaced during restoration. The glass is in excellent condition. The windshield features an original style sun strip, the side glass and vent windows are all clean, clear and undamaged. All windows roll up and down properly. Very nice original hubcaps, likely the same caps that came on the car originally. The white wall tires are in excellent condition, showing low mileage. No rust issues, no bubbles, no noted exterior damage. Very straight car with great lines. This would be an excellent weekend cruiser or even a daily driver if desired! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The interior of the car was also restored during the restoration. All components look to have been replaced with high quality components. Instrument cluster, dash plastics, carpet, door panels, headliner, dash pad, sun visors...the works. The interior was treated to a couple of nice upgrades as well. Pony Upholstery was added and a retro looking, late model AM/FM Stereo with rear package tray speakers, which works great. The only noted items not currently working is the fuel gauge and the passenger side under dash courtesy light. All other electricals, including speedometer, gauge lighting, turn signals, door switches, A/C system and windshield wipers all work great. Clear original door tag still in place on the drivers door, which has been decoded. The car continues to be as it rolled off of the assembly line when new. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All original trunk space, in original colors. Nice factory trunk mat and spare steel wheel. Pliable weatherstripping and solid and painted jambs and gutters. What you might expect a nearly 50 year old unrestored and clean trunk space to look like. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The original owner reportedly had the original 289 V8 and C4 Cruise-O-Matic transmission both rebuilt during the restoration. We do not have any documentation to that effect, but looking at the components themselves, as well as the oil in the engine and transmission, it is very reasonable to believe that these components have been rebuilt. The carburetor was rebuilt by the most recent owner and a Pertronix electronic ignition module was installed. The car starts, runs and drives easily. No smoke, noticeable fluid leaks or unusual noises. Late model R134a A/C has been added to the car that blows hard and cool, however we believe that with an evacuation and refill of the system, it would be colder. Just depends on your level of comfort desired. The system does work as designed. Original style exhaust with transverse muffler, as originally equipped. Nice clean VIN stamping on the drivers side inner fender apron. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The underside of this Mustang is particularly exciting for a person that inspects cars for a living. What you see here is a very nicely kept car that has never had a floor pan replaced, a patch panel welded in or any kind of underside repair made. It's as it rolled off of the assembly line when new, with factory floors and frame rails and shock towers. Very clean. The drivers side quarter panel has been replaced, which as we have been told happened when the car was bumped in a parking lot, which is what sparked the restoration by the original owner. The car features manual front disc brakes that work beautifully. The car stops easily, straight and without much drama. The suspension and steering components look as if they were also replaced during restoration. A great car for someone who is looking for a nice, reliable, turn key driver to enjoy.
