Vehicle Detail

I am re-listing this ad, I've been contacted by a number of people wanting to know if I were firm on the "Buy it now" price, if I'd consider less, and didn't understand the process of placing offers. I thought that was self-explanatory, but here goes. This car I guess what you would call a barn-find, had been resting for a while, fired right-up with a set of points, battery, and drink of gas. It is a Cutlass with 442 option and I believe the W-29 suspension, sway bars front & back, disc brakes, wider rim wheels. 350 engine/ 350 turbo. I am by no means any authority on these cars, just bought it because I love the body style. I bought this Olds 3 yrs. ago planning to restore it and go on the Power Tour. It has been stored in my garage and I haven't been able to do anything with it to due to my wife's health & need to sell to pay bills and at this point is just taking up space. The couple I purchase it from state they were the original owners. 92,000 original miles, so according to that I would be the second owner. Rebuilt transmission (no docs), air conditioning still blows cool, not ice cold (still R12), but I've had it three years and haven't added so it seems to be fine. All glass is excellent. The am/fm radio has no power to it but was told it would work, never researched it. The seats are in good shape with one exception being a small tear on the driver's seat back cushion toward the bottom where it looks like someone got in it with a pointed object in their pocket. Headliner is excellent. The dash pad is excellent with no cracks, etc. Headliner is great. The drive train runs out great, 350 Rocket engine is smooth, no smoke, and had oil changes and regular maintenance. Body- it has typical for 68-72 A-bodies rust issues at the bottoms of from fenders and some bubbles at front of rear wheel wells, maybe a spot or two other than that but that is the majority, see pics. No door-dings. The original owner reported that at one time someone backed into the right-rear quarter panel and they had a new one installed; this was years ago. It has some cracks in the filler along the lines where it was installed, Scratch/small crease on roof where something prior to my ownership must have dinged it just a bit. Trunk: had some rust, I did clean, treat it, then painted it to preserve for future or replacement. Original biased-ply tire in the trunk, no jack though. The only other thing I did to it was add a new pair of air shocks to the rear, the original shocks where shot and springs a little saggy. I had to cut the tailpipe just past the muffler (see pics) in order to change it. I still have it if you wanted to reinstall. The rest of the under-body is in really good shape, the car had been undercoated- all floors are in great shape. Being in the same family as the Chevy, Pontiac, and Buick midsize, parts interchangeability are aplenty for these through the various restoration resources. It drives very nice, like all the GM midsize of this genre, no rattles or squeaks. This car has good bones and would be an excellent candidate for some tender loving care to get it back to looking like new. With that said, it is a 42 year old, so is being sold "as-is" with no warranty expressed or implied. I've tried to represent this car to the best of my ability, please review the pictures or come take a look, and don't bid unless your serious and have the money to pay for it. Basically I am just looking to recoup my money for the car to pay down some medical bills, family comes first so I now have neither the time, energy, or money to do it right so I figured it would be a nice project for someone else. If you leave me a question or message I will get back with you as soon as possible but I am not at the computer 24/7 so please have patience. Best regards. I would like to sell ASAP so if your considering placing a reasonable offer please do so ASAP- I'd like to wrap-up the deal long before 7 days if possible. Please call if you have any questions: 618-616-4439.
