Here for sale is a 1950 Pontiac Streamliner. This is the Silver Streak model which has the inline 8 Silver Streak engine. This was Pontiac’s top end engine at the time. This car went under a full restoration in 1991. The car belonged to my friend’s grandfather. When his grandfather passed he got the car as the second owner and let it sit for year in storage. I finally convinced him to sell it to me and I was surprised at what little work it needed. All I did was buy a new battery, replace the water pump and thermostat and fill it with gas and she started right up. The car looks great with its two tone enamel paint job. It’s white with a gray top. The interior was redone but having sat in the sun for so many years the moleskin material is brittle now. There are some tears which I pictured. I placed a bench cover on the front bench to protect it from any more sun damage. The radio doesn’t work and neither does the fuel gauge. The other gauges work great. The horn is loud and the windows and doors open and close no problem. The driver side door lock sometimes sticks a bit. The door open and closes but sometimes it’s hard to unlock with the key. It has the original rims and hubcaps and runs smooth. I drive it every weekend with my kids. I installed seatbelts in the rear, three people across, so my kids could sit in it. The car came stock with no seatbelts. The car is currently registered until 12/12/14 with a clean California title. It is insured through Hagerty Classic Car insurance. The car is a beauty and runs and drives smooth. Included in the auction are a Scarebird Front Disc Brake bracket kit and a new generator belt. I bought the front disc brake brackets because I was thinking about putting front disc brakes in. I never got to it so it still has the stock original front drum brakes. Hagerty currently values this particular car at $9000. Hagerty has an average value of this particular model with the Silver Streak 8 engine at $8450. I’m listing it here with a buy it now price of $7500. That I think is a bargain. I’ve had the car for a year and I love and so do my kids. But I’m trying to buy a house and a little extra cash around and one less car to move would go a long way. So regrettably my baby is up for sale.
