1981 Porsche 911sc Sunroof Coupe(listed as 1980 as eBay did not recognize the VIN) Excellent straightforward and easy project 911! I purchased this 911 from the estate of the previous owner. Therefore, the 911 has sat for approximately 1-2 years. Cosmetically, the 911 is a great driver. The paint shines nicely and looks great from 5 feet away. However, there are certainly blemishes and imperfections. Most notably, you will see pics of the rear side windows with some bubbling of the paint. Overall, from a cosmetic perspective, I would not hesitate to drive the 911 as-is. The paint is presentable as is the interior. In addition, the interior appears largely original. You can clean and tidy up the interior to make it serviceable or consider it an excellent base to take to the next level. Mechanically, I have driven the 911 around the block a few times to get a general feel for the car. I noted the 911 starts immediately. At cold operating temperature, there is a hesitation and miss. When the 911 is at operating temperature, the hesitation clears and the 911 appears to perform as it should. I drove up to approximately 35 mph during the test run. I tested all gears. The 911 pulls strong through the gears and the clutch appears to operate properly. I would recommend a full fluid/filter service and tune up as a starting point. Overall, I consider this an excellent project 911! This is a great car to drive and improve along the way. It's presentable as-is and I suspect any mechanical needs to be minor considering the incredibly low mileage of this 911. The odometer reflects only ~63k miles which I suspect, but cannot confirm, to be accurate and original miles based on the condition of the 911. Air-Cooled Porsches are commanding strong prices. The SC cars are generally considered the next 911 to soar in value.
