Vehicle Detail
1972 GMC Stepside Longbed 1500 2wd Nice classic truck that was recently traded in. Runs and drives great! 138,600 miles Very reliable. I have the original purchase receipt and owners manual. I was told it had three previous owners, but it should be verified by you if it is an important factor. The transmission was rebuilt in 2011. I was told the engine was rebuilt but no receipts to verify this. Always cranks right up, dual exhaust. Automatic transmission, 307 V8 Engine, Power steering. With some work this could be a very nice show truck. It can be driven now, and gradually fixed up. I will include the extra front fender and some miscellaneous parts, such as more wheels, emblems etc. Obviously being 42 years old, there are going to be several minor issues that need addressing so expect this, but some of the issues that I have noticed: Burns some oil when first cranked up. I have only noticed it on the first start of the day or after it has been sitting for several hours. Does not seem to burn oil regularly when running. It does have A/C but it needs a belt and to be charged. Not sure if it will need anything else or not other than this. Has a radio, but needs a new antenna and can't seem to get it to turn on. The drivers side door handle, the button doesn't pop out like it should, you can still open it from handle though. The steering column is loose at the very top near the steering wheel, turns fine, but needs some type of bearing at the top to tighten up the shaft. The body is in overall good shape for its age, of course it could use new paint. There is a rust spot on the drivers side cab corner and on the drivers side rocker panel. There is a dent on the drivers side fender near the bumper, I am including another fender that could be used as a replacement but it also needs work. There are no other major dents, some dings here and there. They aren't the original mirrors, and there are a few holes in the doors where the original mirrors go. The bed has been painted darker green and has plywood in it now rather than the original wood. The spare tire has a plug in the sidewall and does not hold air. I am required to collect 5% sales tax to South Carolina purchasers.
