Vehicle Detail
Regrettably, up for auction is my stunning 1998 BMW M Roadster. I searched for two years before buying this car, as I was looking for the best M Roadster I could find, and this was it. In fact, I have never seen a nicer M-Roadster than this one. Unfortunately, life events are forcing me to sell this unbelievable car. There are not enough words to describe this car. - Rare chrome BMW Roadstar wheels. - The car just turned 30k miles. -Includes custom made color matched cover. The car is always garaged. I'm only showing it in the driveway with the cover so you can see it better. The car is NEVER left in the driveway. -Includes original window sticker and documentation -Everything works perfectly. No mechanical issues at all. -Fantastic power and handling. -Stunning good looks. Turns heads everywhere I drive it. -Arizona car. Always garage kept and covered. Never driven in rain or snow -Heated seats -Harman Kardon stereo with cassette player and 6-CD changer in the trunk. -Power convertible top. -Complete BMW tool kit in the trunk. The car also comes with a rear window protective cover. As you can see, this attaches to the inside of the b-pillar. When the top is put down, this piece of material protects the plastic rear window from excessive scratching or damage. You can see from the photo of the rear window, it does the job very well. It is very clean and clear, with only minimal distortion coming from the fold area. The only non-stock item that the car has is the strut brace in the engine compartment. It's a bolt-on, so it could easily be removed if you prefer the original look. I can't compare the performance because I have never taken the brace off, but I can say that it handles like a race car with it on. Corners at any speed are no problem. One of the big questions people ask me about is the seats. As you can see from the photos, the leather is nearly perfect. There is almost no wear on the seating areas or the bolsters. It's pretty amazing for a car that's 16 years old. The leather steering wheel is also perfect, no wear at all, which is usually a sign that the car has been raced. Not this one though. This leads me to the one small flaw on the car. At the front, lower spoiler area, the "points", there is some scuffing. If you weren't looking, you would never notice it. It looks like the car had scraped up against a curb. There's no cracking or damage like that. It's hard to see in the photos, but if you look at the very front edge of the lower spoiler in the shadow area, you can see it. I can send close up details if you would like to see it. I have reviewed other M-roadsters on-line and I have set the reserve below what others are selling similar or lesser cars for. I urge you to look for yourself and compare. I am an avid BMW enthusiast and I've owned many over the years. I can say that this is the most exciting, best looking BMW I've ever owned. The only reason I am selling this car is that I'm moving out of state and for a while I will have nowhere to put the car. Good luck! On Jul-25-14 at 15:30:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm adding and additional detail here. I forgot all about this because honestly, it's almost impossible to see. I have added two additional photos to explain this. On the drivers side door, right in the middle, is a small imperfection. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it. It looks somewhat like a door ding, but there is no scratch or chip or mark in the paint at all. If you run your hand across the spot, you can barely feel a dip. I added one close up picture, which is about the best I can do to show it. I also added another side view of the door, which shows nothing there. I suspect that it might be a manufactures defect, but it's so subtle. I knew it was there, but unless you are specifically looking for it, you cannot see it.
