Here in South Florida we have what we call "Snow Birds" who mostly migrate down from Canada. They sometimes buy brand new bikes ride them for a few months and store them for a few years or more.... Then the bikes have issues especially with the fuel system. I don't know when the bike made it too the BMW Dealership here but the owner had sticker shock and walked away from the bike. By this time it also needed all the brakes and tires replaced and so much more.... The dealership called me (Local K-Bike Guy) and I bought it. I completely disassembled her but left the engine intact. I did replace every screw that showed signs of rust. I checked her over from axle to axle and performed a complete drive-train lube job which included separating the clutch and replacing the rear engine "O" ring. All splines looked like new. I replaced all the brake lines (used stainless) and master cylinders. The pictures should tell the story. I love these bikes and this one turned out "Solid". When I drive her over a speed bump now it's one solid thump. I like that in a bike. The former owner the Snow Bird did damage a grill piece on the left side while trying to do something to the fuel system. I will add more pics tomorrow.
