1973 Camaro 396 with 425HP 4 speed M21 transmission 12 bolt posiMajor restoration completed 1/1/2009 This is the 73 camaro GM should have built. This project started with a solid body. Never rusted anywhere. The body was completely stripped down, blast cleaned and then the undercarriage was undercoated then painted with PPG that is an awesome blue metallic base coat color and clear coat on top. New chin spoiler in the front and Z 28 rear spoiler was installed. The front sub-frame was completely disassembled and all components were powder coated to resist chipping (not painted). All new body mounts were installed as well as new Trans and engine mounts. Frame connectors were installed. All new front and rear suspension was installed including springs front and rear and sway bars front and rear. New 12 bolt posi with 373 gears. All new shocks, brakes including all drums, rotors, pads, shoes, wheel cylinders and calipers. New emergency brake cables. All new gas tank, sending unit, fuel lines, brake lines, brake booster, master cylinder, proportioning valve. The new gas tank was also clear coated to maintain its clean appearance. The trunk is spotless with GM spatter paint. The car was painted with PPG Base coat/ clear coat with painted white stripes. The front fenders, hood and inner fender wells were painted off the car. The jams were painted with the car completely disassembled. New bumpers, custom grill, all new glass including the windshield, rear glass and side window glass. New marker lights, headlights, and all the wiring for entire car was thoroughly checked and upgraded where needed. All new stainless steel window trim was installed. All new door handles, weather stripping was installed on the car including the doors, windows and trunk. New fold down liscense plate holder in the rear as well as all new locks for the doors, trunk, glove box door and ignition. New 17” American Racing, Torque Thrusters with new Nitto 555 tires. The interior body shell including the firewall was lined with heat and sound proofing. All new carpet, door sill plates, rear deck cover, front and rear vinyl upholstery. Also new were the door skins and dash pad. Fully functional gauges including the door buzzer and emergency parking brake lamp. Tilt steering column and grant wheel and new center console. New Cassette player and 6X9 Rear speakers. New window cranks, dome lights, rear view and side mirrors. All new bolts were used to assemble the entire car. The engine is a completely rebuilt 396 that was tanked and decked. New crank, reconditioned rods, new pistons, rings and oil pump. The entire assembly was balanced and a new balancer was installed. The heads are completely rebuilt, new comp cam, edelbrock intake and Moroso valve covers with T bolts. New Holley 750 carburetor blueprinted and HEI distributor. New fuel pump Jet coated headers with all new exhaust custom bent front to rear. Vintage Air, Heating and air conditioning that works, awesome. New chrome alternator, Sanden compressor. New Power steering pump, plugs, wires, air cleaner, wiper motor, pump and assembly. All new battery, starter, hoses and belts. New chrome radiator cover. The transmission is a completely rebuilt M 21 4 speed transmission. New Hurst super comp shifter and linkages. New 10.4 Clutch and balanced drive shaft with u joints. As you can see the car has had extensive work done with great attention to detail. It is ready to be driven anywhere and will also stand out at any car show. This is a must see and drive car that will last as it is passed down through the generations. No short cut or disappointments here!
