1970 Volvo 144S for sale: b20 w/dual HiF-6, B20E head, early intake. Story:Its my 3rd Pushrod Volvo and by far my favorite. Selling due to a move and need the cash/or not sure if I can take it with me. Original DC car--I bought it from a 140 racer in Bethesda who knew the original owner. He kept bought it, but it sat under a tent, covered for at least 5 years. Never registered until I got it in 2012. An overall solid and mostly rust free car. It has been my daily driver for the past 3 months and has been garage kept since my ownership Here is the breakdown: Good:New plugs,cap, rotor, K&N filters and carbs adjustedNew Lesforders Sport springs (slightly lowered) and new KYBsReplaced R/F control arm with good bushingNew Simmons (from Sweden/VP Auto) exhaust from header down. Has early style 3 branch manifold that flows good with exhaust. Added good powerStraight, painted 1800E clovers, with 185-60-15 Falkens (less than 1K miles) Original V center caps and lugs (rare)Interior is near mint, uncracked dash, with operating ODO and Trip ODOMotor is strong and powerful, no issues. Cools less than midway even in DC summer trafficPaint shiny, and even shown in the car field at Carlisle 2014 this year.Trans, clutch, brakes--excellentHeat, fan, defrost, Speedo, lights ok98% original car--Floors/Pan major areas rock solid and original Bad (minor issues):Some bubbling around front windshield, and on rear rockers. Worst issue is about a 1 inch hole, newly developed on drivers rear rockerDash lights outRear liscence plates lights inopR/R regulator broke--but window is fully upAll body seals are dry rotted.Repaired hole in R/R fender well, but just gooped it up with sheet metal and silicone (leak proof now)Carpet worn/stained, trim on B pillars warped (but intact)A few dents on the roof (from a roof rack?) and a small one on R/F fender.Needs paint, but can be shined and shownNeeds a few ball joints, and front X-member rusted (but solid and I do have the replacement) Overall a solid, reliable, daily driven 144S. A rare car for those who know and are into the marque. Can verify condition through Parramore Enterprises in Edgewater, MD.Also, a bunch of parts to go with the car.
