Vehicle Detail

1982 Land Rover Santana Diesel 2500cc 4speed 4x4 VIN reads 'E59116150' Check out a YouTube tour of the Santana here: http://youtu.be/P8H5ALwlDWU If you have made it this far you know what you are looking at. Diesel Land Rover made in Spain. A solid truck just ready for the next adventure. Complete with jump seats and oversize roof rack. Car obviously shows its scratches and some seats are worn as shown in pictures. NOS Seat covers are readily available. Car starts first time and drives as you would imagine. Don't expect 80 mph cruising. Pulls away and stops without any untoward groans, smoking or crunches. Probably would drive across country but wears original Michelin MXV's which I keep for shows and use newer wheels for day to day. Would suggest keeping original tyres for shows and having your own driving set. Reason for sale is I have a SWB Santana (see in picture) which I use around town. LWB adventures will have to wait as 2 year old daughter demands my time. Please feel free to ask any questions. Values are rising and so would welcome any inspection. Penny auction which will run to conclusion and not lifted/cancelled. Drive as is or use for your nene overland conversion. Hate to say it but please no wasting my time. Good Luck.On Jul-03-14 at 12:59:54 PDT, seller added the following information: On Jul-07-14 at 13:01:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Felt I should update with information based on the most common (and sensible) questions. The car has 4 speed manual transmission, the engine 4 cylinder diesel and transmission can be 2WD, 4WD high, 4WD low. These cars were made in Spain at a time when the UK was experiencing 3 day weeks, labour walk outs and what eventually became of the UK car industry. I will let you be the judge of where you would have preferred your Land Rover made. Advantages of the Santana in my opinion were very functional for such a car....ie. manual locks, manual windows etc. Less to go wrong on an 'expedition' vehicle. That said I would encourage anyone to try and drive a Land Rover from this era. You will not be cruising at highway speeds, you will not be performing Defender stunts as depicted in the most recent James Bond movie. This is life in the slow lane. FJ40's have better manners. The car is at my secure storage facility with the rest of my collection. I know full well that transport companies take their time to fill wagons and therefore do not guarantee pick up dates. The car will be stored safely and dryly. With regards USA import, the car is past the 25 year rule so eligible. I am unsure with regards SMOG etc. for each state. Would the car drive across country, I would think so with new tyres. That suggest driving it across the border would represent a 'grey' import and may lead your car to deportation/destruction. I use Mackies for brokerage and transport and they recently transported a Porsche I sold for $1800. I hope that covers most of the questions but feel free to ask.
