Vehicle Detail

The car started out as a clean 100% rust free 1981 z28 that i baught in 2009 it was driven for one summer. Then sent to the body shop and stripped down to bare metal, it was then primed and painted to profection lazer straight and shinny as glass. Every part of the body is original to this car except for the hood it is a steel 2inch cowl. The floor fenders trunk everything was solid no rust. All of the paint and body work was done in 2010, it still looks great but has a few chips and light scratches from being driven. Since the car was restored it has about 5,000 miles on it. Always kept inside my race car trailer. In 2011 i decided to pull the motor and replace it. I started with a 1989 454 4bolt main that was pulled from a running truck with 90,000 miles. The motor was the torn down to the block and sent to the machine shop. There it was checked for cracks and any inperfections and bored .030 over stock. We went with a forged steel crank, arp connecting rods, trw 10.5:1 pistons, comp cams part# 11-445 hydraulic roller cam 580 lift, edelbrock aluminum heads part#6065 and arp head studs, msd distributor with coil pack and rev limiter set at 7,000 rpm, weiland polished aluminum intake and demon 750 carb top it off.The exhaust starts with hooker long tube headers and runs into 3inch tubing to dynomax mufflers and exits behind rear wheels. The motor now has about 3,000 miles on the rebuild and it runs amazing and sounds better with a really loppy idle.Transmission is a TCI th350 with 4500 stall converter with trans cooler mounted in front of the radiator. The interior is all stock front seats may have been redone i am not sure but they are like new. The rear seat is in great shape but has one small hole. The carpet was replaced when the car was apart for paint. The radio has been upgraded to with a kenwood cd player with ipod hookup and the speakers are also new with 6x9 in rear and 4in round mounted on the sides of the center console. This car has the factory z28 ratchet shifter witch works better then most aftermarket units and keeps the stock look. The suspention is stock with the exception of drag shocks and lakewood traction bars. The wheels are made by coys the front tires are fuzion 235-45-17 and rears are nexen 255-45-18. I have taken the car to the track a few times it ran a best of 11.50 @ 117 with a 1.60 60 foot time witch is very respectable 1/4 mile i have the time slips to prove it. I now have a family and too many cars so something needs to sell.
