!970 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL time capsule. After searching for several years for the perfect LWB 280, I purchased this car from the 94 year old original owner. It is in very very good-completely original condition. It has zero rust. I have every single paper and receipt down to the original window sticker. The paint is in very good condition-the cognac leather is about as nice as 44 year old leather could possibly be with only minor cracks to the drivers seat. The wood, dashboard, and carpets are all perfect. The car is incredibly tight. It runs and shifts perfectly. Only flaws are a chip to the windscreen and a few minor dimples in roof from being parked underneath a pecan tree and a minor dent to grill (from old lady pulling into her garage). The car needs muffler. Always garaged-never driven in winter. This car is an exceptionally rare find to use as is or for light restoration to be perfect. Regret selling but just got engaged and need funds-I will never be able to find another 280 in this condition again and will most likely cry when it leaves my garage. Car is located in Jacksonville, Fl. It spent the first 42 years of its life in Locust Valley, NY. The car peforms beautifully at 90mph on 1-95 so would consider delivering or can arrange shipping.
